version 2.3.3 29/03/2009 : Major change - all modules when installed are now "disabled" by default. The majority of "shop owners" are installing on live sites and so if they install a module it would appear on a customer's shopping trolley and checkout before the owner had a chance to check the figures or that the handling fees are correct. New Modules - ukcourier, this is a very basic module for shop owners that want a basic courier module without going to the trouble of setting up zones and placing the Scottish Higlands in a separate pricing zone. specialdeliverysat - This is BETA CODE, this module will appear to the customer after the post office has shut on a Thursday through to when it closes on a Friday, giving the option of Saturday Special Delivery, but it does rely on the server having the correct time and being in the UK, in the next release this will be corrected. Module Update - Standard Parcels now has a minimum weight setting. THe royal mail calculates the price in a band from 0 to 2Kg, whereas some shop owners may prefer to send items by 1st Class up to a kilo and then offer standard parcels, this new setting enables this scenario and will be migrated across all modules. Removals - the sql that removed all the royal mail details from the database and the sql for when people upgraded versions that were 2~3 years old has been removed from the optional section after a newbie ran it on his live site by mistake and damaged his installation. |

Airsure countries have been corrected, The code base for Airmail and International Signed has been altered to create a cleaner more accurate code, reflecting the Royal Mail's change from Europe, World Zone 1 & World Zone 2, to Europe & the Rest of the World. 12/03/2009 - International Datapost, International Standard and Eurozone 48 all have to be upgraded because or a bug in the filename and bigroyal mail will not work unless the old files are removed before installing this release. What's new in version 2.1 Bug Fix on all Royal mail Standard Parcels. Well spotted and diagnosed by JSR, the royal mail standard parcels modules were not working for pacakges over 6 Kg. A remove and install will not alter any handling setting that shop administrators have already set up. UK Zone records Improvements. The Zone records now have a minimum and maximum order value to match all the other modules. |

What's new in version 2.0 An almost entire rewrite. After comments from the forum, when a shipping module is uninstalled and then re-installed, any shop administrator handling fees are no longer removed. This does lead to constants still being defined in the zencart database which may no longer be used, but if the rates change then an upgrade is easier. There is a total uninstall sql patch file included with this zip file which can be used to clean the database entirely. Things have become esier to manage ofr the maintainers of this module and the user. Most Royal Mail services are things like "add £0.68" for a signed for service to the normal rates, or "add £1.50" for extra insurance on International signed for. Previously every module had to be re-written for each rate. Now the increased insurance modules are duplicates of the "base service" with the appropriate amount of insurance added. This should mean that if the insurance rates change, only one line of code has to be altered per module, or if the rates change, then a bulk sql patch can be issued across multiple modules. We also have split the UK into zones for the ukzr module, and included is a large pdf with hoepfully quite comprehensive instructions. We have chosen Parcelforce48 as the basis for the courier rates but the zone system used should be valid for a basis of any other courier. We have added the rest of the second class signed for services. |

This now includes a template so that if a service is not available either due to an invalid zone, a price limit or a weight limit, then the site administrator can choose not to display the shipping service. e.g. the administrator sets that second class mail is only viable for orders under £20, a shopper orders £21 of goods, the 2nd Class option then disappears from the checkout screen. This includes an upgrade sql patch and instructions for people that have already installed version 1.2 |
