Hi Guys,

Can you someone answer few questions please regarding upgrading from 1.3.9e to 1.5.1

1.) Is there anything I should worry about database?
2.) Is templates compatible with 1.5.1?
3.) Is there any changes that are major changes from 1.3.9 to 1.5.1 that I should worry about.

Problem with sub-categories after update, please help

Hi,
I just updated our shop from 1.3.8 to 1.5.1, so far so good, I hope at least :blink:
However it doesn't show the sub-categories... it doesn't matter what template I have. The sub-categories and the products are there in the admin, but it doesn't show in the shop.
I hope you can help.

v151 Upgraded and product pages are now blank

Upgraded the site yesterday to 1.5.1 and now my product pages are blank. Winmerge told me the files should be good. Can't figure out why those pages aren't showing up.

Even new products are blank once I create them.

v151 Text corruption in In Admin/Configuration/E-mail Options

I have upgraded to 1.5.1 and am now trying to fix the various problems I find.

In Admin/Configuration/E-mail Options there is an option for:

Convert currencies for Text emails

When I click on that to edit it, there is an explaination that ends in:

What currency conversions do you need for Text emails?
Default = £,Â£:€,â‚¬

(This is not in the text box area, I adjusted the corrupted characters in the text field to: £,�:€,� )

Using the Developers Tool Kit I cannot find which file those words are stored in to edit them.

Can someone let me know?

I believe that zen-cart is basically using UTF-8. I just came across the:

includes/functions/functions_email.php

that has the charset as:

CHARSET : "iso-8859-1";

Should it be changed to UTF-8?

Our recent upgrade to 1.5.1 in Zen Cart has left several problems we can’t figure out.

This is on all the subcategories. We want it to be 3 columns across like this:

first sub cat second sub cat third sub cat
fourth sub cat fifth sub cat sixth sub cat

I have been trying to fix this problem for several weeks now, and I am coming up empty. The problem is we want the subcategories in columns 3 across and they are in one column on the left.

I have tried everything recommended in the forums including some CSS changes and it still it won’t change to what I want. I even tried the module for columns but it only affects the product pages, which we don’t want.

We are willing to pay someone to help solve this problem.

v151 Country not recoginzed in My Account Edit menu

I am almost ready to put my store back online and have been checking to see if everything functions as it should...

I have discovered that in the My Account section, if a customer clicks on:

View or change entries in my address book.

and makes a change to their address then clicks the Update button, a warning comes up saying:

You must select a country from the Countries pull down menu.

Of course a country is selected in the pulldown menu. I tried choosing other countries but no go...

I have a two language store and tried the same for the Japanese side and get the same error message.

Does anyone have any idea on how I might resolve this?

v151 Order Status Data Stored Where?

I have a two language cart (English & Japanese) and have found that the Japanese order status text for:

Pending (default)
Processing
Shipped
Update
Refunded

since upgrading to version 1.5.1 is no longer readable.

I tried editing them in the Admin area, but the original file they are written in does not appear to be encoded in UTF-8, so the text remains unreadable. I need to find that file and convert its content to UTF-8.

I have used the Developers Toolkit to try and find it but have had no luck. Can someone tell me where it might be?

v139d 28 connect timed out error

I'm getting a persistent 28 connect timed out error and not getting any joy from my host or paypal. I've read all the posts and done everything my host has suggested. Nothing has making any difference.
Will it make any difference if I upgrade to V1.5 and/or change hosts?

v139h 1st time user - Confused on upgrade process

I was asked to upgrade a V1.3.9h website to the latest version. I am confused as to which folders/files need upgraded? The live website has several years of files and folders and they do not match the downloaded upgrade files. What folders and files are required for the upgrade?

I am familiar with WinMerge but because of the mass of files and different folder structures on the live site I haven't been able to figure out what needs changed as it relates to customization's, etc.

v151 Words FAVICON_CODE in Top Left of every Store Window

The words "FAVICON_CODE" are immovably possitioned in the top left corner of each page of my store causing some items in the CSS header to be moved downwards. It is not visible when in the Admin area.

I did a search for FAVICON_CODE using the Developers Toolkit and found several instances but I am not sure what to make of them.

In my old Zen 1.3 site I had written the favicon code in:
/home/globalpe/public_html://......jp/includes/languages/my_template01/english.php

as:
Line #28 : define('FAVICON_CODE',''.

But that is no longer in the 1.5.1 store files. I guess there is some related leftover code somewhere that I need to delete but I am not sure where to look...

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.

v151 TEXT_BILLING_SHIPPING_MISMATCH shows on my page

I am slowly solving the problems that I am encountering...

I was checking through the admin section, looking at the Customers/Orders page (in English). I noticed there is a warning: TEXT_BILLING_SHIPPING_MISMATCH.

Everything looks fine but when I click on the Edit button I get a blank page. I immediately checked the error log and this is what I found: PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class moneyorder2 in /home/..../includes/languages/english/modules/payment/moneyorder2.php on line 45

Line 45 has this:
class moneyorder2 {

var $code, $title, $description, $enabled;

I am not sure what to do with this error...

In connection to all of this, my store has 2 languages. If I switch to the Japanese for this section, I see the same TEXT_BILLING_SHIPPING_MISMATCH error. The width of the page is much wider than normal and instead of titles for each of the columns I see:

TABLE_HEADING_ORDERS_ID TABLE_HEADING_PAYMENT_METHOD etc...

Clicking on the Edit button takes me to a new page (not a blank page!), but it is a superwide format...

Any input on what I should do would be appreciated!

I downloaded the V1.5.1 and then realized that I could not just open it and have it work so now I have all these files and I am unsure how to proceed. I read under the FAQ that I should not take my site down but write down all the plugins and then construct a new site separately and then install all those plugins and test it before taking down and putting up the rebuilt one.

I was lucky to get the first one up and I had to finally hire a guy to help me get the bugs out of it and make it work. Are there any step by step instructions for normal people (excluding the tech instructions) telling me how to go about upgrading? I am scared I will erase work that I spent months putting in.

Then is it really worth the headache to try to do this upgrade if the site is currently functioning? :blink:

v151 1.3.9 --> 1.5.1, customer login loops back to login page with new password, why??

Testing 1.3.9h to 1.5.1 upgrade, no templates applied.
Appears all data came in fine etc., no apparent issues during database upgrade.
Add product to cart, try go to checkout, customer login does not allow login, instead it LOOPS BACK to the login page.
Requested new password, put this in, still loops back to login page.
NOTHING in the /logs folder.
How do I fix this?? Google doesn't give any good results.
This is on the STORE side of things, not admin.
Really don't want to redo the whole database!!!

P.S. Additional testing: add a product, goes to cart, click go to checkout, login, loops back to CART!! Why??
