copy of database

Hello all, I'm using phpMyAdmin v3.44 and mySQL v5.1.57 and I want to create a copy of my db 'mydb_aa'.

I export my mydb_aa, create another db 'mydb_bu' and try to import the data and I get an error saying mydb_aa can't import into mydb_bu.

I changed all of the occurrences of mydb_aa to mydb_bu and tried to import the data and I get an error message that says database exists.

Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thank You very much in advance

You haven't selected the best settings when doing your export. Select your database from the left pulldown BEFORE clicking on the Export option.
