Trouble with "New Products" and "Specials" pages

Hi,
I have successfully put the product listsings for categories and search result listings in nice grid/columns, but for some reason I can't do it for the Products_New and Specials... any idea how to do this?

I want all the listing pages to show in a grid/column format... looking exactly the same. Those two pages are not doing it.

I noticed specials uses: tpl_columnar_display.php
and products_new uses: tpl_modules_products_new_listing.php

Wheras the category product listings and search results uses:
tpl_modules_product_listing.php

Anyone? I still can't figure this out :(

FYI... I'm using the column layout grid mod... and it works beautifully on all the product listings except for the "Specials", "New Products" and "All Products" listings :(

I need those 3 listings to appear EXACTLY the same as the other ones that were changed by that mod.
