One category with several options
Hello!
I don't know how to set up the following. I will be selling software. How do I have a Category called, "Computer Games", then just have a list of all the games that they could click and choose however many they would like to buy, (they all cost the same)
Thank you!
Re: One category with several options
Through settings the product listing can be setup similar
You can see a demo install of the default products and a page where what I am referencing is HERE

Hi Kobra!
Thank you for responding! I was kind of thinking a layout like the following (listed on one page when they click on GAMES):
Games:
Monopoly [ ]
Blackjack[ ]
Solitare [ ]
ADD TO CART BUTTON
Re: One category with several options
You can have what I linked to by default
What you describe will require custom coding to attain

Re: One category with several options
Hi Kobra!
So I've been doing a lot of reading on this forum and thinking, I guess my problem can be taken care of by setting it up the following way:
Product (Computer Games) $1.00 Ea.
[] Monopoly
[] Family Feud
[] Solitare
[] Tic Tac Toe
There would be checkboxes so they could choose which ones they want. I tried to set this up in the ATTRIBUTE CONTROLLER & OPTION NAME & OPTION VALUE in Admin. It looked ok on my site, but I have a question about how exactly to make it so the shopping cart adds up the amount correctly. To better explain: The shopping cart button already has a number one there by default. So when they choose let's say three games, do they always have to change the number in the shopping cart box, or is there a way it can automatically change? Also, is there a way to keep an INVENTORY of the GAMES? In other words, let them know how many are in stock and also lets them if it's sold out?
Re: One category with several options
Doinf it this way, thriugh attributes, have no price but select "priced by attributes...
Add games as individual attribute option values and price each added added attribute
Texyt in place of a price is along the line of
"Starting at $x.xx" where the price is the lowest
The text displayed can be changed to something like:
"Each Game Selected" and the price of $1.00 will be present unless some are a different price
Set this up and if it pleses you you can then add the "Stock by Attributes" 3rd party module to track individual game stoock
