Help!!!!
 I want to change some stuff on my template design, like colors, the header design. Can anybody walk be through the basics here - I hear people talking about modifying lines of code, WHERE IS THE CODE LOCATED? - i HAVE FF WITH THE DEVELOPERS kit - I am probably the most clueless zenner in here, can someone tell me where the code is edited from or where it is at????
fyi, I got this far with the help of a web designer, needless to say we are not working together anymore this the site http://www.apostle.com

Re: Help!!!!
Start with the files in the includes/templates/YOURTEMPLATE directory. Those are the files that will need to be edited.
If your other designer didn't use the over ride system so you don't have a custom template folder look in /template_default for the base and start building your own custom template in it's own folder.
Also the WIKI Docs (link at top here) has a lot of useful info about customizing.
Hope that helps!

Re: Help!!!!

Re: Help!!!!
Are you familiar with FTP and Html and CSS at all ?
The files are in your files on your site, in the locations that I listed.
You will need to use ftp to download them to your local computer and then edit and reload them.
Or if you have a local server running you can put them into your local server and then edit to your hearts content and then upload it (this is what I do since I am a designer).
I'm not trying to be a smart a**, it is just a matter of not knowing your level of expertise in the design/code/setup process :)

Re: Help!!!!
I am familiar with MY FTP & the basics of HTML but not CSS, thank you for giving me some direction - I also downloaded crimson editor, is this where I should open the files on?? I don't think you are being a smart a** - Thank you!!!!

Re: Help!!!!
Exactly hun - you control colors and sizes using the stylesheet.css
You move things around on pages using the other files in your template folder.
You should have a folder named other than classic or template_default - this is your template over ride file (commonly referred to as YOURTEMPLATE here on the forum).
So FTP the files to your computer - look for the over ride folder in includes/templates and then use Crimson Editor to edit and change to your liking - upload back to the same folder :)
If you don't have a custom template folder - it is a good idea to create one - it saves you a lot of headaches :)

Re: Help!!!!
ok, I downloaded the files you mentioned and managed to find a folder called colors.css - is this where I can change my site colors (such as the background colors, etc.?? Also where do I go to change my header?

Re: Help!!!!
If there is a file called colors.css you got me - the person that was working on your site has not used proper zen structure.
To be correct, it should be stylesheet_colors.css which would read after stylesheet.css which is the default.
I am sorry, but without seeing the file structure and the files I can't tell you for sure what was done when creating this template.

Re: Help!!!!
I saw that file as well...I will look there - that might explain why the colors weren't changing, lol - Thanks again.
