Search box & Search botton width control
Should read "search button" LOL
v 1.3.9h
New install
http://www.scplaceonline.com/zen/
I have searched FAQ/Forum to find the answer but I'm stuck. I just need to know which file sets the width for the search box and button. I can "view source" and see that they are set and that the width needs to be increased, but for all my code reading including my template (Template241) CSS and language directories and in the overrides I have set, I can't find it.
I'm sure the answer will leave me with a "Duh, I forgot to look there" moment, but please put me out of my misery. [SCR][/SCR]
Re: Search box & Search botton width control
includes/templates/your_template/sideboxes/tpl_search_header.php
Look for 120px. It will be in two places.
Re: Search box & Search botton width control
PS: That's assuming Template Monster didn't screw it up.
Re: Search box & Search botton width control
Thanks,
I'm pretty sure it's not one of those Template Monster monstrosities.

Re: Search box & Search botton width control
Nah, it isn't. The number in the name threw me off. That's how they do theirs.
Re: Search box & Search botton width control
I was wondering why I couldn't find it. The template actually did not have a tpl_search_header.php in includes/mytemplate/sideboxes
but your advice was correct. It was the file being called.
I went and pulled the one from template_default which is part of the std Zen installation, widened the boxes, installed it in
includes/mytemplate/sideboxes/tpl_search_header.php
and it worked fine.
Thanks again for a quick and accurate reply that not only helped me fix the issue but added to my understanding of how/where Zen Cart is retreving files and how to add one more to the override system in prep for the big leap to 1.5
Re: Search box & Search botton width control
Correction:
My custom template: includes/templates/mytemplate/sideboxes/
did not have a custom version of tpl_search_header.php
I pulled the version from
includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/
which is part of the standard Zencart installation.
I modified it and loaded it as
includes/templates/mytemplate/sideboxes/tpl_search_header.php
Just in case anyone needs this same override and the file isn't part of your custom template.
