Confirmation emails wont go to my email address after purchase
I cant get my confirmation emails to go to my email address after purchase. The email address was recently changed from [email protected] (which is a godaddy account) to miscpaper######################. Here are my settings please help.

1) Have you tried to send an email to the account from somewhere else successfully?
2) Have you checked your spam folder?
3) Have you tried smtpauth as an email transport method (entering your "login" credentials at the bottom of the posted list of settings. The same as necessary to setup email with programs such as Outlook.)

Thanks for the reply. I dont understand the 3rd option I have never done this before. What does this do? Will it allow me to test the email sent option?

is SMTP usually used for Yahoo email accounts?

A quick search revealed: Yahoo! Mail SMTP support?, Troubleshoot Email Problems: External SMTP Mail Servers, and Understanding the Causes of Lost Emails
If you are using an email service / server (such as an yahoo email address) other than the one provided by your website hosting provider (yourdomain.com), you will need to use SMTP (usually SMTPAUTH - SMTP with Authentication).
Otherwise emails are sent via your website hosting provider's email server (yourdomain.com) and mostly likely be discarded, bounce, or be marked as SPAM. Why? Because the emails will not pass some basic checks. For example a check to see if "account at yahoo dot com" exists on yourdomain.com's email servers. Or fail a check by the recipient email server ([email protected]) to see if the email was sent from Yahoo's email servers. Those are just two (of many checks) email servers often utilize to reduce fraudulent emails.

Admin->Configuration->E-Mail Options
Change transport to SMTPAUTH, fill in the SMTPxxxx settings (will be same as Yahoo provides for an email client such as outlook / thunderbird / mac mail), and follow the other recommendations for external email servers and Yahoo email in the resources posted earlier in this thread.

Best practice is for the email address used to send email from your store to be different from the email address you configure to receive email notifications. Using the same email address for both is sometimes problematic (and may result in lost notifications).
NOTE: Typically using a Aol, Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, or other free service for your store is not recommended. It looks alot more professional for the email address to be @yourdomain.com and makes it easier for customers to identify the email was from your store (and not SPAM from a "free" email address).

Guys this is like foreign to me... I changed some things around but I dont know what needs to be set up for the SMTP stuff.
Is the server port below the outgoing or incoming port number. They dont specify. Im lost here and need help

The SMTP Port value is configured as the outgoing port required by your mail server.
