Missing products in Specials listing
I'm a little baffled at this. I'm setting up a sale for this weekend and some products are just not showing up in the Specials scroll box so I can put them on sale. Does anyone have a quick fix for this problem? I have two products I need to add to the sale. One of them I can handle with SaleMaker, but the other one can't be done that way.
I had help setting up the cart on my site in February... I know just enough to be dangerous! (But not enough to solve this problem.) I don't know where to check for version, but it is the version that was available in February 2006.
HELP!

The Product dropdown does not include Specials already on Special on the Catalog ... Specials ...

Does this include expired sales? I did find that to be an issue in SaleMaker and had to delete all the expired sales.

When a special or sale expires the status changes to 0 and you will see the red vs the green icon ... but it does not disappear ...

Ah HAH! Thanks so much! I deleted the previous sales and now everything is showing up in the Specials list.

This seems fundamentally wrong. It requires that someone be actively managing transitions from one Special price to another-- rather than defining a schedule of Specials that take care of themselves based on the dates.
Of course, this bothers me more for my other thing I'm working on :-(

If Zen Cart is automatically managing them based on the dates you define and turn them on and off based on how you define them ...
where exactly is this wrong? :unsure:

As you explained, you have to delete the previous special in order to create the next one. You can't have two specials for the same product, so how could it turn them on and off automatically unless they're for different products?

No ... you can make on a single Product a single Special ...
There are not multiple Specials for a Single Product ...
You can pre-set Specials days, weeks, months etc. in advance but there is only 1 Special per Product at this time ...

That's my point! It seems wrong. I changed mine to allow multiple Specials for a product and the pricing function just picks the first one with status=on.
Life is so much easier..
