Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
My HTML output still shows the original links--yes the mod functions perfectly, but... when people mouse-over a link (or look at the source), they can see the ugly links I want removed...
It forwards people to the correct link immediately after--(so effectively everything works--I just want to clean my source code)
So my question is:
Can the latest beta version of this mod (which I installed), remove the ugly links from the HTML source code?
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
It looks like I installed the mod wrong (is that correct?)--I wonder why the source code links are still in the old ugly query format--
I'll try to figure this out...
Zen Cart 1.3.8a (no security patch)
SSU 3.7.1 (your latest beta--I didn't use the modified HTML_output.php page)
So--I'm just trying to figure out if the ugly source code is how the mod is intended to work, or if I have made some kind of error.
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
I checked & rechecked my installation--and it appears everything is perfect.
I wonder if there's something in my configuration I missed? I'll keep trying to find an answer in this thread--it has grown a lot since I was last here.
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
Hello, everyone.
I installed this MOD from its official website and it was not a complicated things to do, however, I do have some problems with modified links - as in my web-store there are product with special characters (in example EPSON Večnamenska naprava - now makes link look like "epson-ve-namenska-naprava"). Can this be fixed anyhow?
i usually use windows-1250 charset, so it shows those special characters also,
these are the characters I cant seem to get working (they are written in UTF-8)
- should be "C" instead of a "-"
- should be "c" instead of a "-"
- should be "S" instead of a "-"
- should be "s" instead of a "-"
- should be "Z" instead of a "-"
- should be "z" instead of a "-"
please help :D
EDIT:
I just noticed that the reviews don't work with this new modified links --> the http://www.mydomain. si/product_reviews_info/epson-ve-namenska-naprava-sx105-p-1/reviews_id/1 review ... if I click on it, i get a 404 error
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
^^ nevermind, I fixed it - sometimes it helps reading ALL the included documentation before slipping a question on forum
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
I'm still having the same problem--the HTML produced by the server uses the query strings instead of the new links--
the 301 forwarding works, and forces you to the right link...
but the source code is full of links that should be removed...
Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]
Anyone have a solution to why this mod messes up the cart? One is not able to remove items from the shopping cart with this mod turned on. The url string to 'remove' is not even getting written in the source!

I'm having this problem myself--URLs are not getting re-written in the source & I can't figure out why. Its producing unmodified query strings in my source instead of the new alias URLs. The 301 redirects are working to the new URLs but that's it.

I was just somehow randomly taken to this when clicking my email for this thread....but perhaps it is the solution...

Find includes/classes/ssu/cores/link.php and REPLACE the 2 instances of urlencode($value) by $value
I will try this later when I have time.

I tried this, it didn't fix my particular problem though.
