[OLD] Google Merchant module Version 1.12.0 by Numinix
This is the NEW thread for the latest version of Numinix Google Merchant Version: 1.12.0
1. If you have any prior version of GM installed you must un-install by using the sql un-install located in the file.
2. Install the NEW sql patch.
3. Upload all NEW files.
4. Make sure the feed/goolge file is chmod at 755 or 777
Google Requirements:
1. Basic Product Information
A .id [id]- An identifier of the item
B. title [title] - Title of the item
C. description [description] - Description of the item
D. google product category [google_product_category] - Google's category of the item
E. product type [product_type] - Your category of the item
F. link [link] - URL directly linking to your item's page on your website
G. image link [image_link] - URL of an image of the item
H. additional image link [additional_image_link] - Additional URLs of images of the item
I. condition [condition] - Condition or state of the item
All of these conditions should be automatic if everything is set-up correctly with your Zen-Cart.
Troubleshooting:
D. google product category [google_product_category] - Google's category of the item
This is a must. You have to follow Google's cateogry tree. I had to change all of my categories to match theirs.
How I did it (and it took me a full day to do it) is I made the required categories for my products and moved my items to the right categories. If anyone knows a better way, then please post it.
Here's their category tree:
catergory tree here
Example: If I sell shoes, then my categories would be the following:
Shoes - Main category
Sub categories:
Athletics Shoes
Boots
Flats
High Heel Shoes
Loafers & Moccasins
Outdoor Shoes
Sandals
Slippers
Trainers
2. Availability & Price
A. availability [availability] - Availability status of the item
1. Your Zen-Cart must have "show quantity stock set to 1.
2. Your GM config must have Show Quantity (true) & Default Quantity (1)
B. price [price] - Price of the item
C. sale price [sale_price] - Advertised sale price of the item
D. sale price effective date [sale_price_effective_date] - Date range during which the item is on sale
3. Unique Product Identifiers
A. brand [brand] - Brand of the item
B. gtin [gtin] - Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) of the item
C. mpn [mpn] - Manufacturer Part Number (MPN) of the item
These are the most common problems. Please read first before posting.

Marvin, did you completely un-install it and re-install the new version?

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread Version 1.12.0
Here is a fix for the Shipping Country problem:
You can fix this by editing your admin/includes/functions/extrafunctions/googlefroogle.php
HTML Code:
if (!function_exists('google_cfg_pull_down_country_list')){
function google_cfg_pull_down_country_list($countries_id, $key = '') {
global $db;
$name = (($key) ? 'configuration[' . $key . ']' : 'configuration_value');
$countries = $db->execute("select countries_id, countries_iso_code_3 from " . TABLE_COUNTRIES);
$countries_array = array();
while (!$countries->EOF) {
$countries_array[] = array('id' => $countries->fields['countries_id'],
'text' => $countries->fields['countries_iso_code_3']);
$countries->MoveNext();
}
return zen_draw_pull_down_menu($name, $countries_array, $countries_id);
}
}
Make sure you add it above:
?>

Regarding availability setting, I have a question
I want to include Zero Quantity item in the feed and availability will be marked as <g:availability>out of stock</g:availability>
I found that only non-zero quantity item have availability included

If I understand you correctly you want to create "out of stock".
To the best of my knowledge I don't think Google will allow that. Items must be in stock.

I checked in Google, they accept <g:availability>out of stock</g:availability>
http://www.google.com/support/mercha...r=188494#other
However, I don't really know the search results will include 'out of stock' items or not.
The reason to include 'out of stock' items in the feed, is to let customers know items may back in stock later.
I will try another <g:availability> value 'preorder', just using find and replace with some text editor.
Let see search results will include 'preorder' items or not.

What happens when you confirm and read your .xml file?
What does it say?

The data feed status is all items inserted when I have some items <g:availability>out of stock</g:availability>
However, seems I cannot find it in Google shopping search result for those out of stock items.
Now I changed them to <g:availability>available for order</g:availability>
This is also accepted according to their Four predefined values accepted:
* 'in stock'
* 'available for order'
* 'out of stock'
* 'preorder'
My solution is using text editor and find <g:quantity>0</g:quantity>
replace it with
<g:quantity>0</g:quantity><g:availability>available for order</g:availability>

Hummmm not sure if 0 is a good idea.
You can leave it at available for order if that is what you choose.
You have confirmed, uploaded to google and everything is ok except attribute availability?
If so, your search will be not be visible for about 24-48 hours.

the items it is not inserting are in stock, there are items that are out of stock that have been inserted.
there is a feed level message and 2 warnings.

For this particular type of problem you will need to download your feed, open it up in an editor, view the error and fix it.
Once this error is resolved you will have to download a fresh copy each time an error appears because the lines & columns change.
I had this problem continuously until all my errors were fixed.

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread Version 1.12.0
More important information for the Googler's:
exemptions are only for the
three global-trade attributes --
gtin, mpn, brand --
nothing else.
google_product_category
classifies the physical item --
regardless of age or condition --
and must be an exact google value.
a google_product_category value cannot
be changed, modified, or augmented in
any way whatsoever; you cannot change
any google_product_category value.

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread Version 1.12.0
I have question that is sort of linked to the 'out of stock' issues some other posters have mentioned.
We have products that can only be purchased in store due to Sony's requirements. But we want these products to appear on Google Shopping so that customers who are interested can visit the showroom & purchase them.
Now we have set these products as 'call for price' via the admin section. On the page it does display the product price but simply has 'This product can only be bought in store' as the only option. You can view the product here .
The products are listed as in stock and have quantity assigned to them. Does anyone know how we can get these products to be generated by the Google Merchant Centre Feed?
-
Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread Version 1.12.0
Has anyone else noticed
HTML Code:
<g:product_type></g:product_type>
being left out on some items?
In version 1.12.00 we have one item that is missing the product type tag every time a feed is generated but all other 500+ items have the product type tag. I can't figure out why just the one item isn't getting it.

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread Version 1.12.0
Maybe a stupid question, But even they need answered lol,,
Our site sells a variety of items of different descriptions,, in Google Taxonomy can i add more than one catergory because only choosing one from the tree master category wont include other items,,
for example if i had this items i could add this :
Arts & Entertainment > Collectables > Rocks & Fossils
then : Office Supplies > General Office Supplies > Labels & Tags

I don't know of you can add more than one Google Product Category in the configuration, but I do know that only using one will not exclude any products. I also sell a variety of items, use only one Google Product Category, and everything gets inserted just fine.

Thanks, I was reading that it was better to be more specific when choosing the categories in taxonomy for better search results,
Thats fine if you only sells a specific product and can narrow it right down in the tree,,
Just thought it was a big vague in instructions for sites with a varied product range,,
I havent uploaded a finished feed yet, so was just needing to get every question cleared up first,, Thanks

Check on your file merging.

Wouldnt have a clue what that means??
Not actually sure if i installed numinix properly,,
I installed the main part of numinix then installed the aditional product field i required which was the upc_isbn , that seemed to have worked as it is in the product page of admin and when i checked the feed the EAN number i included was there aswell??
but it killed ceon mapping in there

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread Version 1.12.0
Hi
Installed v 1.12.0 1.39h cart
no previous versions installed. new fresh install
Feeds producing double google categories:
<g:google_product_category><![CDATA[Arts & Entertainment > Collectibles]]></g:google_product_category>
<g:google_product_category><![CDATA[Arts & Entertainment > Collectibles]]></g:google_product_category>
We get these doubles only when there are no attributes defined, using Numinix xtra fields. If at least one attribute is defined then there are no double google product categories

ceon uri mapping and numinix product fields write code to some of the same files and need to merged. If you just uploaded the product fields mod without merging then you overwrote the ceon code.

Compare the folder/file structures of both mods to see which files they have in common. Of those files that are common to both mods, use winmerge to compare the code and merge ceon code back in. Ceon comments his code well so you shouldn't have any problems.

winmerge is by far the BEST and it's free. i use it all the time. a great program to have.

If you products get approved try and not upload a new feed. It killed my search and I had to start all over again.

Ive never entered into this stuff before:no: think ive found both sets of files for:
MODIFIED FILES:
===============
admin/includes/modules/update_product.php
admin/includes/modules/product/collect_info.php
admin/includes/modules/product/preview_info.php
sorta sussed out how Winmerge works,,,
so would it be a case of merging the ceon with the numinix files and upload,,
:oops:

ceon code will be easier to merge into the files already containing the numinix product fields code, rather than the other way around, and then upload.

Appreciate your reply. But the Google Merchant Feed Module via Zen Cart is not even generating these products so it's not an issue of Google rejecting them.
One other issue is that shipping is set under Zones. Within zones we have a table rate set up for the UK. I've set Zones as the shipping method & selected GB as the Table Zone ID. However the google feed shows the shipping cost as £0. I've also tried the zones table rate option within shipping method.
Any help would be appreciated. :smile:

2. Availability & Price
A. availability [availability] - Availability status of the item
1. Your Zen-Cart must have "show quantity stock set to 1.
2. Your GM config must have Show Quantity (true) & Default Quantity (1)

sash, have tried to confirm and run your .xml file within admin?
if so, what errors are you getting?

Googlers:
A. availability [availability] - Availability status of the item
1. Your Zen-Cart must have "show quantity stock set to 1.
catalog/product types/page layout/show quantity stock set to 1
2. Your GM config must have Show Quantity (true) & Default Quantity (1)
Both of these are a must.

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread Version 1.12.0
Hi - the following is a copy of a post in the Image Handler3 thread - it is probably not protocol to make the same post in 2 different threads however there seems to be a connection so hence this cry for help!
Quote:
Hi - my issue is images in product pages - default and additional - have disappeared since I installed IH3.
All images are present on the home page, and indeed on the first listing page of a category however beyond that images are missing but the text description for the image is showing.
Also - prior to installing IH3 I had installed Google Merchant after which when adding a new product I could not get images to load ("No Picture Available"). No Configuration changes were made to images, new listing, all listings etc.
Subsequent to installing IH3, I can add images to new product listing AFTER saving it (without an image) and by then going to Tools, IH3 and inserting images - problem is that the default image does not show up in the product page, only the additional images do. An error message says could not load default image albeit the default image shows up with all the additional images in the box (in Tools).
Something integral is preventing upload of images to product pages - not sure where to find that code to address the problem :dontgetit
So Iam slowly but surely pulling out the little hair I have left. :laugh:
Any and all assistance appreciated.
cheers,
Mike

Mike, take a deep breath...relax and try reinstalling IH3. I will test it later on my test site. I did not upgrade to IH3 because IH2 was working fine for me.
Or...if IH2 was working fine....you might want to re-install that one...again...it's just a suggestion....

Or...if IH2 was working fine....you might want to re-install that one...again...it's just a suggestion....
Sucking it in!!
I didn't have IH2 or 3 installed prior to installing Google Merchant - images problem started with installation of GM and is now exasperated by IH3.
I know we will get there in the end :D
Next post is a doozie :smile:

Where does one apply attributes for Google requirements
Hi again,
my reputation for asking dumb questions normally precedes me however this one is a real doozie.
Having read what Google wants to have stipulated for the feed data, and in my case it comes under Apparel Accessories - the toughest category in respect to data required - WHERE do I do this, where do I add the information against a product for the feed that GM wants? There does not seem to be the allowance for such input in products attributes in admin??
The other aspect is that for this category Google demands a Brand Name. The product is Jewellery and comes from all manner of places and often through 6 sets of hands so it is impossible to establish a factual brand - does one create their own brand name for this purpose??
cheers,
Mike

Not sure if this will help but on the Google Merchant Center Feeder Configuration at the bottom it says this:
Image Handler True
I have mine set to True since I have IH2 installed.

I had this problem continuously until all my errors were fixed.
I am still getting this error message
Line No. Column No.

I have opened it and it looks to be where I offer £5 gift voucher.
However the £ sign is missing from the data but it is included in my zencart product heading

I am currently removing all £ signs and quoting GBP instead.
the error has now moved to this line.

Because I sell vintage and antique collectibles - including costume jewelry - I have many items that I don't know the brand, so I setup Unknown Maker in the manufacturer list and use it. Works fine.

Thanks for that - I will use something similar .... like "made by an apprentice jeweller in a small village in the Tibetan foothills just north of the Khyber Pass" .... Google can't say that isn't unique :D
By the way - where does this information get entered? - in stock with attributes? or elsewhere?

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
Hi there
I am finally making some headway on using this mod. I was able to get a feed made but for some reason it keeps stopping midway through a product. Not the same product everytime either so I have not been able to determine why it is stopping. I am not getting any errors from Google on the feed that I am submitting.
I have over 14000 products. The last time I ran the feed it ended here
id: 5541, price: 68.84, description length: 286 - including - success
id: 5542, price: 8.84, description length: 397 - including
I looked at product ID 5542 and found nothing strange or weird about it.
Any thoughts?

When you setup a product, it's entered in the Products Manufacturer field. Zen Manufacturer = Google Brand attribute.

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
I have homemade items which are exempt.
In my config setting I have this:
Default Product Type (blank)
Product Type - Top
Google Product Category Default (blank)
Enter a default Google product category from the Google Category Taxonomy or leave blank (note: you can override this default setting by creating a Google Product Category attribute as per the documentation):
1. If I enter Apparel & Accessories, it doubles in my feeds.
2. If left blank - nothing
Findings:
The product type is functioning correctly but the category type is not.
Why?
Has anyone else had this experience or problem?
Thanks
-
Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
danilyn22 and candleman
besides viewing your feed file in an editor, it helps to view your feed in IE or Opera. If there's a problem with your feed the browser can't load it. It will show you where the problem is. When the errors have been fixed the feed will finally load in your browser.

That sounds like what I have been experiencing. I posted about it in the old thread.
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...postcount=3483
Another thing that is happening is there is one product that consistently has the product type tag omitted but the rest of the products in the feed include the product type tag. This is the only thing keeping the feed from being perfect in merchant center.
The product type tag can be added manually but most shop owners will not want to deal with that.

Have you created attributes of age, gender, color, etc for each product?

I just went and copied the product then deleted the original. Now the product type tag is being included for the product. I don't get it but the feed now has no warnings or errors in merchant center and my quest for a perfect feed is now complete (for about 2 minutes). LOL

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
OK i've just about pulled out all of my hiar which at my age i'm losing it anyway.
Zen 1.3.7 (i dont think that has anything to do with it (?)
I have installed the 1.2.0 version 6 or 7 times. The last 3 times after uninstalling the sql files at least 3 times each.
Each time I have the following problems:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sql patch comes back with a 1062 message of dupkicate key:
1062 Duplicate entry 'GOOGLE_PRODUCTS_DEBUG' for key 2
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_id, configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, date_added, use_function, set_function) VALUES (NULL, 'Debug', 'GOOGLE_PRODUCTS_DEBUG', 'false', 'Turn on simple debug?', @configuration_group_id, 0, NOW(), NULL, 'zen_cfg_select_option(array(\'true\', \'false\'),'), (NULL, 'Google Merchant Center FTP Username', 'GOOGLE_PRODUCTS_USERNAME', 'ftp_username', 'Enter your Google Merchant Center FTP username', @configuration_group_id, 1, NOW(), NULL, NULL), (NULL, 'Google Merchant Center FTP Password',
ETC, ETC, ETC
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following shows in the configuration:
Configuration Catalog Modules Customers Localization Reports Tools Gift Certificate/Coupons Extras
Google Merchant Center Feeder Configuration
Title Value Action
NOTHING ELSE!!!!!
-------------------------------------------------
tOOLS/GOOGLE MERCHANT CENTER TAKES ME OUT TO THE ADMIN HOME PAGE!!!!
Help please.
How do I get out of this dillema
-
Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
marvin, what do you mean
HTML Code:
tOOLS/GOOGLE MERCHANT CENTER TAKES ME OUT TO THE ADMIN HOME PAGE!!!!
do you mean if you click on confirm a separate window pops up? not sure what exactly you mean that GM takes you out of the admin home page. i know when i click on confirm...(run debug) a separate window pops open and then when i check my .xml another separate window pops open.
BUT if you're version is 1.3.7 yes you do need to upgrade. Trust me we have all been there. You might be having a compatibility issue.
i am not an expert but any means and i, like others, are struggling with GM too.
not sure what to tell you on the duplication....try searching (yes it works) the forum.
hope that helps

I mean that when I go to tools and click on "GM center feeder " I go to the Admin home page:

Yes, I have searched both the new & old forums for GM and have tried all the sql deletes and re-patch suggestions to no avail.
As to compatability - was hoping to hold off until 1.5 is debugged and ready.

If running the uninstall sql numerous times doesn't remove it then you'll need to delete it manually from the configuration table

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
I have managed now to be able to open the feed file and I dont think this is a Google thing. The feed itself is only showing the 72 items even though it says it is processing 108 items with no errors.
some are in stock and some are out of stock

bugs in version 1.12.0 and handling non-english language
Just to summarise what I have found, (in case Numinix reads this)..when adapting this to cope with both english and spanish.
Bugs
1) for the country pulldown list in the admin.
The function call as named by the sql install and the actual function name are not the same. Probably easiest to rename the function
PHP Code:
if (!function_exists('google_cfg_pull_down_country_list')){
function google_cfg_pull_down_country_list($countries_id, $key = '') {//steve was google_cfg_pull_down_country_iso3_list
This has been mentioned above but I would like to point out its a bug.
2) the options for automatically adding the product types based on your category path.
"bottom" is incorrectly coded in googlefroogle.php.
Correction:
PHP Code:
$bottom_level = $product_type[sizeof($product_type) - 1]; // sets last category in array as bottom-level, steve bug was +1
3) in the same location, the category names go through the htmlentities function to encode special characters (as per google feed specs). This garbles utf-8 as php defaults to iso-8859 so the correct code should be:
PHP Code:
$product_type = htmlentities($bottom_level, ENT_QUOTES,'UTF-8');
However, when the accented characters are represented correctly in the feed, Google still complains of invalid format.
So, get rid of the function altogether in the three instances, for example:
PHP Code:
$product_type = $product_type[0];//steve removed htmlentities, Google no like
} elseif (GOOGLE_PRODUCTS_PRODUCT_TYPE == 'bottom') {
$bottom_level = $product_type[sizeof($product_type) - 1]; // sets last category in array as bottom-level, steve bug was +1
$product_type = $bottom_level;//steve removed htmlentities, Google no like
} elseif (GOOGLE_PRODUCTS_PRODUCT_TYPE == 'full') {
$full_path = implode(",", $product_type);
$product_type = $full_path;//steve removed htmlentities, Google no like
4) Duplicated <g:google_product_category> after each item.
There is duplicated code in both googlefroogle and/classes/ google_base to deal with attributes. I did not investigate this fullly as I don't use attributes.
I chose to comment out the code in google_base, this may not be the correct solution for your store.
In any case search for g:google_product_category to find the repeated code.
I have added code to the mod to be able to generate each feed with its own store description, currency, and default google category. If anyone wants it for their dual language store, pm me.

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
all experts:
I got an issue after I installed the new GM 1.12.1 (zencart 1.3.9h), google merchant center gave me "missing unique product identifiers..." even though All of my products have upc code! when I went to GM configuration, change upc/isbn/aen from "false" to "true", none of my products can be inserted AND I got the folllowing:
1054 Unknown column 'p.products_ean' in 'field list'
in:
[SELECT distinct(pd.products_name), p.products_id, p.products_model, pd.products_description, p.products_image, p.products_tax_class_id, p.products_price_sorter, p.products_priced_by_attribute, p.products_type, GREATEST(p.products_date_added, IFNULL(p.products_last_modified, 0), IFNULL(p.products_date_available, 0)) AS base_date, p.products_date_available, m.manufacturers_name, p.products_quantity, pt.type_handler, p.products_weight, p.products_upc, p.products_isbn, p.products_ean FROM zen_products p LEFT JOIN zen_manufacturers m ON (p.manufacturers_id = m.manufacturers_id) LEFT JOIN zen_products_description pd ON (p.products_id = pd.products_id) LEFT JOIN zen_product_types pt ON (p.products_type=pt.type_id)WHERE p.products_status = 1 AND p.products_type <> 3 AND p.product_is_call <> 1 AND p.product_is_free <> 1 AND pd.language_id = 1 GROUP BY pd.products_name ORDER BY p.products_id ASC;]
Why is that?
I have to change it back to "false", then UPC won't show up in the domain_products_en.xml.
I got a notice from google saying my account will be suspended if I have missing Unique Product Identifiers!!!
Any help? :cry:

Installed the latest version 1.12.1.

v1.12.1 changelog
changes 1.12.0->1.12.1
Since Numinix don't put a changelog anywhere:
1) the repeated code for the google product category as detailed in my previous post has been removed from googlefroogle.php.
However this does not fix the problem.
So for those who want to stop this issue, comment out the code in google_base.php. This is a hack as I can't be bothered to second-guess how it should be.
PHP Code:
/*steve, causes repeated category
if ($google_product_category_check == false && GOOGLE_PRODUCTS_DEFAULT_PRODUCT_CATEGORY != '') {
$google_product_category = $dom->createElement('g:google_product_category');
$google_product_category->appendChild($dom->createCDATASection($default_google_product_category));
$item->appendChild($google_product_category);
} */
2) code for feed compression has been added.
3) minor text change in the admin config: no need to uninstall/install

Kudos to Steve! :yes:
However, I finally....got mine to work so for now I am somewhat afraid to upgrade.
For me...and trust me...I am no expert...but I believe the doubling issue was due to attributes not being added.
Thanks to everyone one who has contributed. :bigups:

How did you put the UPC codes in? With a Numinix mod? I believe that is what is intended - the error message is saying that you don't have the necessary field from one of his mods.

If google is not approving your products and you are not getting error messages in your google account, contact them to find out why.
If you do have warnings about serious errors, those have to be corrected.
Looking at someone else's xml feed will not tell you anything.

If you do have warnings about serious errors, those have to be corrected.
Looking at someone else's xml feed will not tell you anything.
From reading the various forums posts on the google base forum I am coming to the same conclusion. These forums are pure comedy gold if anyone is interested!!!
No errors what so ever all just disapproved or invalid.
I've requested them to look at it again to see what happens
I've developed a real strong dislike for google trying to get this working!

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
Google does have rules and they have changed. One of my customers didn't have any problems for a long time and suddenly his feed was disapproved last summer. We tracked it to certain products on his site that were not steroids but must have had some text in them that made the google bot think so. He had them look at it again and he is finally back in business.
Just remember it is a free service - and it comes with strings.....

PHP Warning: file_put_contents() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in /includes/classes/google_base.php on line 74
Anyone has this problem?
Do you mean that this shows while you are exporting - or is that a cache error message? There is not a debug log to my knowledge.
I couldn't duplicate that anywhere.

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
One final question.
Does this version replace all the spaces in the image names with %20 as per googles requirements or is this something I need to address?
None of my images are showing even though I have the setting to my http://www.candlewithcare.co.uk/images/ folder as this.
It has been over 72 hours now as well

1054 Unknown column 'p.products_ean' in 'field list'
Why is that?
I have to change it back to "false", then UPC won't show up in the domain_products_en.xml.
I got a notice from google saying my account will be suspended if I have missing Unique Product Identifiers!!!
Any help? :cry:
Are you using Numinix Product Fields or the UPC/ISBN mod from software addons? If the latter, that is likely the problem. You need to use the former.

duplicated <g:google_product_category>
In post #84 I recommended commenting out some code in google_base to stop the creation of two <g:google_product_category> after each item.
I found that by doing that, the few items I have with attributes were not assigned this field.
So, I've commented out the code in googlefroogle.php instead and that seems to work for both simple and attributed products.
PHP Code:
/*if (GOOGLE_PRODUCTS_DEFAULT_PRODUCT_CATEGORY != '') {//steve commented out to stop duplication
$google_product_category = $dom->createElement('g:google_product_category');
$google_product_category->appendChild($dom->createCDATASection($default_google_product_category));
$item->appendChild($google_product_category);
}*/

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
I had the previous version installed and uninstalled sql patches and installed the new one and then uploaded the new files and I am able to create my googlebase XML file using the Google Merchant Center Feeder.
"Google Merchant Center Feeder v1.12.1 started 2011/10/24 15:54:24
Feed file - /XXXXX/XXXXXX/public_html/feed/google/XXXXXX_products_en_2.xml
Processing: Feed - Yes, Upload - No
Google Merchant Center File Complete In 0.095126 Seconds 2 of 2 Records"
Then when i click the created file I get the following message "Internet Explorer cannot display this feed” Feed error code. Do you guys know why I am getting this error message? I believe I'm supposed to see the actual xml file showing me all the products with pics and description. If anyone can shed some light on this for me, I would great appreciate it.

After several attempts and working on it endlessly...YES...I have mine working and my items are now searchable with Google
You have to follow all of Google's Guidelines. See the link below.

Re: The NEW Google Merchant Thread - Version 1.12.0
My feeder wasn't uploading at all. I used this post and managed to get 21 items from 309 to upload but they have errors and are not searchable. I am pasting the first few lines of my .xml. Please help I ma desperate as i am not getting traffic at all. It seems everything is messed up. My feeder was downloaded by numinix and it has never worked. The 21 items that uploaded i had to go in and change the info one by one. This thing was suppose to auto populate but it seems it is not. Is there a way i can write one code and it will apply to the entire website and auto populate? If someone can help i am willing to reinstall the whole thing.
I have paid to have this installed twice and they both are not working!!! please help

I don't think it's the module not working. What are the error messages you get in your google merchant admin? Are you saying that it exports 309 but google stops at 21?
If so, then look to google to find out why. My guess is that you have invalid characters in your descriptions or you have used an ampersand in one of your image names.

Delia is correct. Read her post. This happened to me several times and I had to correct each one within my store. Then I would confirm again and check to see if there were anymore errors. It takes time to make the corrections but it is well worth it. Good luck.
