Payment Processing Questions
Greetings Zenners!
I am fairly new to Zen Cart. We are setting up a product driven store. When orders are placed, we will Order the item from our supplier and drop-ship it to the buyer.
My question is what would be the best method of approving the credit card purchase, but not billing the card untill the item is verified in stock and shipped?
We are considering Google Check Out, and possibly pay-pal, but want to be sure that we chose the correct payment solution to fill the need of delayed transaction.
And advice would be greatly appreciated..
Thank you,
Bob LaPlante
Re: Payment Processing Questions
You can use the inherent MANUAL C.Card module that's standard in your zencart package.
Or you could use one by CEON (do a search for ceon in the forums). This one is better than the zencart standard.
These modules enable credit card information to be collected, WITHOUT going through a payment gateway.
There are several things to consider here:-
1. Do you have another way to process cards once the information arrives? Such as an EPOS terminal.
2. Collecting credit card info manually is a security risk - you'll need SSL at least.
3. Your current merchant bank may not allow you to collect credit card info via an internet interface (you may be violating your agreement with them if you do).
