ZC good candidate for magazine publisher?
Hi all, I'm trying to help a buddy of mine find a Web-based solution for his publishing business - he publishes a small magazine, and manages the mailing list manually.
I'm wondering if ZC could be tweaked in such a way to make his life easier. He'd use the software to sell subscriptions and back issues. What I'm wondering is if the user profile info that ZC collects might be enough to manage the mailing lists - i.e. how many issues are left in a subscription.
And can user names/addresses be exported for use on mailing labels?
Sorry for a cumbersomely worded question ... square peg in a round hole, I know, but there just aren't any good subscription-management tools for small-time publishers that don't run thousands of dollars.
Thanks in advance,
James

James,
Zen Cart could do most of what you need but, subscriptions are not addressed at all at this time.

Thanks Kim ... so, can ZC export user data for label purposes? I'm wondering if the subscription side of things could be handled via a manual workaround, allowing us to use ZC for product sales, mailing list maintenance, etc.
Best,
James

This is not built-in, but there are some contributions that do various exports, and you could use those as a basis to build something tailored to your exact needs.
