Multiple Stores One Admin Limited Control
Hello. I am looking for different options with some of my ecommerce stores. I know there is a MultiStore addon... But I am not sure if it will work for me.
I am looking to offer sub stores to who ever would register on my website. Example: mydomain.com will list all the customers products that they develope (t-shirts). They will also have the ability to offer their own website such as mydomain.com/customercustom name. They will need to have limited access to their admin section.
Maybe--
-be able to put the prices that they would like
-select what products they would like
-submit their own custom designs
I would make the t-shirts and ship them. But it would be their designs that they are using and I take a % of their sales. I already have the t-shirt equipment.
What are my different options that I have using zen-cart? I want it to be easy for my customers.

No. Zencart isn't intended for that purpose, and it would require considerable custom coding to make it behave that way.
Try Googling ecommerce mall software.
Re: Multiple Stores One Admin Limited Control
Now with the release of ZC 1.5 with admin profiles, if the following is made possible, then it should take care of the above requirement.
Admin Area
--------------
1. Create a profile for each Vendor and then create users under each profile.
2. When a product is created, admin Id should be stored with it.
3. When displaying products in Admin area, filter products with the admin id.
4. If the admin is SuperAdmin, then all products should be listed.
Store Front
-------------
The subdomain will have a copy of the main store, but the catagories and products will be filtered based on the admin_id which created the products.
I am not a programmer, hence I cannot take it further, how ever I am willing to contribute (time/money/resource), if some one is willing to take up this further.

I'm no programmer, either, but I suppose that could be done. I'd guess that interrupting the payment process to 'take a % of their sales' would be the sticky part.
