My client would like a link on the footer of the home page only to track hits. i know how to edit the footer, but when i make the change, it applies to all pages. i need it only on the home page. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are editing tpl_footer.php -
In the template dir for the template you are using make a dir named "index" and place the edited file in it
If that does not do it try naming the folder "home" one of those is the correct name??
