osC convert - "Your database appears to need patching to a higher level"
I know there are other threads on this, but instead of stepping into one of those, I figured I would start a new one to keep things clear
ok, I get the error msg in my storefront
I also get error msg in my admin
I am running this on a local machine so there is no link for you to view....
in Tools->Server Information it shows:
Zen Cart 1.3.6
Database Patch Level: .
PHP Version 5.1.6
in running the installer to do a database update, it shows:
Database Information -- Upgrade Sniffer predicts: *** No upgrade required ***
Database Type = mysql
Database Host = localhost
Database Name = xxxxxxx
Database Username = xxxxxxx
Database Table-Prefix =
Database Privileges = Not Checked
and no options are selected in the list of upgrades
the original db is an oSC db converted to Zen using mysqldiff and other tools (have now become a master of doing this....)
so........ ?
Re: Your database appears to need patching to a higher level
Jeff-
You were upgrading from 1.3.5? What are the permissions on your includes/configure.php and the admin/includes/configure.php?
Re: Your database appears to need patching to a higher level
hi Kim
yes
the db goes from an old oSC db, to a Zen db and it has worked flawlessly up until this installation of 1.3.6
started with a clean install of 1.3.6, then I go thru the following:
1) install clean copy of 1.3.6 and create clean db
2) download current copy of oSC db
3) do a mysqldiff on oSC vs 1.3.6 db
4) apply all changes
5) change db name in admin & catalog includes/configure.php to new db
permissions are 644 on both config files

Looks like you missed ensuring some tables were ported over or contained current/valid data. In the case of patch-level information, this is in the project_version and project_version_history tables. If you've missed those, then I would venture to consider that others have been missed during your conversion as well.
