OMG...what is CURL and how do you install it? (my windows localhost)
Various errors indicate that cURL support is not installed. I have looked high and low for instructions on how to install this or enable this, or what!?!?!?!?!?
Wherever the cURL site is or whatever it is, it seems to be cryptic and designed for rocket scientists.
I downloaded something, but with so many options for downloads I have no idea if I have what I need, nor do I know what to do with it.
I don't program, I don't compile things, I just install stuff.
I am running my server so I have complete access to it all.
IIS6 on Windows 2003 Server. Someone please write a quick, detailed, step-by-step with no holes in it so the rest of the world can easily understand how or why they need this. Thanks!
Re: OMG...what is CURL and how do you install it?
Yeah, it's my server. I'm traversing the c:\php folder right now to see what I need to do. Seems there's some file shuffling that needs to take place.
I have php.ini open and I'm attempting to figure out what to edit and where things need to be.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: OMG...what is CURL and how do you install it?
You have me stumped,
I can do this in sleep on NIX
My Personal feelings on Windows,
something to look oput of and clean when the wife hollars,,
Re: OMG...what is CURL and how do you install it?
Good grief.
Thanks anyway. After reading and doing as much as is made available, I still have this notice:
CURL functions not found - required for Linkpoint API payment module
on my screen when I click on the Money Order payment method. Makes no sense.
How do I make this work...any windows experts out there? I have had no problem getting PHP and MySQL working on Windows, ever...but this cURL thing is still a mystery to me.
Re: OMG...what is CURL and how do you install it?
Seems I've made progress after reading some shiz...
1. Copy a coupla DLL files into the system32 folder
2. Copy the curl dll file from the php\ext folder to the php folder.
3. search php.ini for the commented curl extention and uncomment it
4. smash your head on the floor once
5. RESTART IIS
As of now, I'm not receiving the notice that it's not installed, but I don't know if that really means it's working, nor have I really figured out what cURL is actually going to do for me...but here we go...
Re: OMG...what is CURL and how do you install it?
If that does not do it for you, you also need to copy the curl.dll file from that mess of files you downloaded and place it in each of the same files in which you placed the php_curl file.
A copy of both should also go into the curl directory file you created.
you also may need to change the apache file that also has a php.ini if you are running it on am apache system.
