Re: Store Suddenly Being really slow
Try enabling parse time display
admin > config > logging > Display The Page Parse Time > set to true
Re: Store Suddenly Being really slow
I enable the parse time as suggested.
I am getting the following when accessing the home page: Parse Time: 1.173 - Number of Queries: 541 - Query Time: 0.58311116897583
I am getting the following when trying to look at a product: Parse Time: 1.072 - Number of Queries: 582 - Query Time: 0.57140655610657
I am not sure what to get from these reading. Is it bad or good?
Re: Store Suddenly Being really slow
The Query Time is how much time is taken by the database. The Total Parse Time is the amount time it's taking to draw the page (including the Query Time in that total).
Your numbers reveal that your slowdown comes from your server's CPU being too busy to process all the things it's being asked to do.

Re: Store Suddenly Being really slow
Thank you DrByte for your explanation. I went thru the suggested articles already and seems that my hosting server is being overwhelmed or too busy.
I am currently using webhero as a hosting company on a linux server but it is not dedicated.
Any suggestions on what i should to get my store load faster? what should i request from my hosting provider? Should i get a dedicated server?
Thanks again for your help on this
Re: Store Suddenly Being really slow
It's rare that a dedicated server would be necessary. That would usually only be needed if your store is in the scale of getting thousands of visitors per minute.
But it's similarly true that many "shared hosting" servers are very poorly tuned, or are "over-sold", as in too many hosting accounts for the amount of horsepower the server has.
First course of action: complain to your hosting company.
And check out other options and see what you can get for the same money. See the hosting options on the "Services" page here. Click the Services button at the top of this page.
