The "Australia Post Shipping Module" is obsolete and hasn't been actively supported for a couple of years now.
If you require support (and a *network* of servers that are assured to provide consistant connectivity) you should consider using the "ozpost" module.

Unfortunately for new zenners, the zencart team have very recently revamped the downloads section, which has a small bug (as of today anyway). Up until this revamp it was plainly obvious that "ozpost" was the not only the most downloaded of these two modules, but also the most up to date of the two.
I recent check (like, just now) has come as a bit of a shock to me, because it now looks as though the opposite is true, and that 'ozpost' has only had a fraction of the downloads (234) (not true), and that was last Updated: 15 Mar 2009 (not true), and that it is only suitable for ZC Versions: v1.3.8 (not true).
Meanwhile, the old and unsupported module, which now has several price innaccuries due to increases since its 2010 update *appears* to be the most current release in the listings.
Furthermore, when this particular module was released it only supported *one* quotation server (edeliver.com.au) that was to be decommisoned by Australia Post earlier this year. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1770950.

Short story – the DRC will remain operational throughout 2012, probably longer, however we encourage you to migrate to the new PAC API. Details available at http://auspost.com.au/devcentre
Long story – the DRC now calls our preferred PAC API via a "DRC facade". This was implemented on September 6th. Some customers experienced problems with this activity and as a workaround implemented a direct IP call (155.144.24.25) to the original/old/legacy DRC. This method will cease to operate in March 2012. It is very difficult for us to identify and proactively contact these customers as their usage is anonymous. All we have to go upon is an IP address that often leads to a ISP.

Due to pre-planned server decommissions occurring within Australia Post, we would like to issue a final warning to all users who currently access the old Delivery Rate Calculator (DRC) API service located on http://edeliver.com.au/ratecalc.asp to please update their URLs to http://drc.edeliver.com.au/ratecalc.asp – This small update will allow you to continue to run your services without disruption as we continue to decommission our servers. Please note that we will be terminating the old API URL by March 23rd 2012.
If you would like any further assistance, please feel free to contact on us websupport AT auspost DOT com DOT au or visit http://auspost.com.au/devcentre for more information on our new Postage Assessment Calculator (PAC) API.

I'm sure that the zencart team didn't intend to mislead people when they did the site update, but nonetherless I can already see that it is going to cause a lot of people a lot of needless problems unless it is rectified in one way or another.
Cheers
