Background Image for Main Wrapper
I am trying to get a background image placed in the main wrapper section of a template.
I would like it to be placed/displayed directly under the logo wrapper, but no matter what codes I insert ( I even made up a few goods ones that blew the stylesheet to pieces! :shocking: ) the image doesn't budge from starting at the top of the page (thus the logo is placed over it!).
Here is the section of code from the stylesheet that has me totally vexxed!
Quote:
#mainWrapper {
background-color: #ffffff;
background-image: url(../images/joolback.jpg);
background-repeat: no repeat;
text-align: left;
width: 750px;
vertical-align: top;
}
deleting vertical-align does nothing!
Since this template is for a client - please PM for the link.
Thanks.

Re: Background Image for Main Wrapper
There was a thread a little while ago that dealt with something like that.
IIRC, afo had an answer - you might ask her.
Re: Background Image for Main Wrapper
I use a background image on the Fan Odyssey site in my sig. Here's a snippet from the stylesheet for that site.
Code:
/*wrappers - page or section containers*/
#mainWrapper {
background-color: #000000;
background-image: url('../images/space011.jpg');
text-align: left;
width: 100%;
vertical-align: top;
}
Have you played around with it in Firefox?
Re: Background Image for Main Wrapper
Thanks for the replies!
I have looked at in FIrefox and no joy found!
As an alternative I have reworked the template desgn and placed a different image in the .contentMainWrapper that I want to line up with right edge of the left sidebox (navColumnOne).
The codes I entered are posted below, but now I am missing the snippet of code that will move the image to the right of navColumnOne.
Quote:
#contentMainWrapper {
background-image: url(../images/pagevines.gif);
background-repeat: repeat-y;
background-color: transparent;

Re: Background Image for Main Wrapper
Another design/template change....
How do I make the area between the left and right sideboxes transparent - so an image can be seen?
I just can't get my head wrapped around this! :cry:
Maybe I need sleep, coffee or both! lol
