Install in my existing website vs: its own URL/domain name
Hi. I want to have my shopping cart/store be A PART OF my website, instead of a store by itself. I would like to be able to link to the store in the navigation bar and other places. I searched the forum about this and gilby posted this in a Closed Thread:
You can install it in a subdirectory with a link from your existing site.
.or.
you can install in the root directory and make it your site.
.but.
it is not intended to be a backend to your existing site.
Will it work properly installed in a subdomain, or is it best to have a separate domain name/URL for the store/shopping cart, and then link to it? I REALLY don't want to do it this way because the store is an integral part of what my website is about.
If anybody has other suggestions for a better/best way to achieve this, please let me, and everyone else know.
Thanks!
Steve
Re: Install in my existing website vs: its own URL/domain name
IT can work in a subdomain
shop.MyDomain(dot)com
But a lot of people seem to have problems setting this up.
Its straight forward to use a sub directory without problems
MyDomain(dot)com/shop

Hi gilby. Thanks for your quick reply!
Do you know if it's possible to have more than one store, and manage them all from the same admin, instead of having to go to separate Admins for each store?
Thanks again!
Steve
