Assigning Shipping Costs per items
Hello
ZenCart Version is 1.3.9h.
I'm looking for a way to specify the shipping cost by Product. I do not want to use the Shipping Module.
Is there a way that I could specify the shipping cost in a Database field (zen_products) and the software will automatically use this cost instead of using the Shipping Module?
Kind Regards.
DT
Re: Assigning Shipping Costs per items
And what is wrong with the built in Shipping Module for the Per Unit perweightunit where the weight is the shipping cost of the Product?
Re: Assigning Shipping Costs per items
Hello Ajeh,
Absolutely nothing is wrong with the built in Shipping Module. Somehow I can't get Paypal & Google Checkout to have the same shipping cost. Paypal is using the Table Rate by weight, somehow Google is not. I want both to be in sync. I'm looking for a solution for both Payment Option to use the same Shipping Cost.
One I get both Payment Option then I'm going to Install Amazon Checkout. That'll be another obstacle.
Kind Regards,
DT
Re: Assigning Shipping Costs per items
I don't know about Google or Amazon ... but the Per Unit Rate perweightunit should work fine with PayPal ... unless you have somehow changed the code ...
Why are you using Table Rate table and Per Unit Rate perweightunit shipping modules at the same time? They do not work in together ...
Re: Assigning Shipping Costs per items
Currently I'm only using the Table Rate (Weight). Instead of using the Table Rate(Weight) I want to assign the Shipping Cost for each item. I know there's a way to do this using the zen_products table, I just can't recall which field I have to use in the zen_products table & which admin settings I have to set.
Kind Regards,
DT.
Re: Assigning Shipping Costs per items
Table Rate deals strictly with the weight of the whole order, not a per Product shipping cost ...
Per Unit Rate perweightunit uses the Weight of the Product as the Product Shipping cost ...
Example: If the Product Weight is set to 1.5 then you would get:
1 x 1.5 = $1.50
2 x 1.5 = $3.00
3 x 1.5 = $4.50
