Ajax Attribute Controller
Continuing on from http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32842 ...
This looks like a really good idea, much needed. This would be the one and only reason I would upgrade to 1.3 as life would become so much easier. However, on the demo, I'm not seeing how to multi-select a bunch of attribute values.
Say I pick "colour" and want to add "red, green, blue, pink", it seem to me that I can't select more than one. If I were to find a way to multi-select, is this going to have problems adding to the database?

Re: Ajax Attribute Controller
please try this version: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...kage_id=186327
INSTALL
copy the folder-struc over;
admin/attribute_controller.php will be overwritten
WHAT DOES THIS MODULE DO?
you select an option name & you see only this option values for the selected option name which you haven't used;
example: you select the option name COLORS & you get the option values "yellow, brown, black & white"; NOT "blue, red, ...", because you had added this values; now you select "yellow & black" & set the attributes for "price, weight, ..." and hit insert;
Re: Ajax Attribute Controller
if you have troubles with charset/encoding:
change line 36 of /ajax/xajax.inc.php from:
define ('XAJAX_DEFAULT_CHAR_ENCODING', 'utf-8' );
to:
define ('XAJAX_DEFAULT_CHAR_ENCODING', 'your codepage' );
in admin/attributes_controller.php, line 33,34 you can make experiments wih encoding settings;
Re: Ajax Attribute Controller
error when i select the option name:

is anyone else getting this, and how do i fix it?
Re: Ajax Attribute Controller
Better still, check out Bunyips Improved Attributes Controller (thread - download)
This contrib solves half my Zen problems in one go - it only shows the values for the value selected, AND you can add many at a time AND it is compatible from 1.2.6 to 1.3.1. This is a HUGE time-saver. Install this mod first if you are ever going to go near attributes!
Re: Ajax Attribute Controller
Kelvyn-
I realize you are excited and happy about Bunyips mod- but cross posting/duplicate posting is against the rules.

I didn't cross-post. I replied individually and appropriately to threads where people were looking for or discussing the attribute controller.

OK, sorry if that came across a little abrupt and defensive. I'm having a total nightmare upgrading to 1.3 (just as a 1.2.7 compatible version comes out!). I was just thinking that this will save lots of people hundreds if not thousands of hours or clicks, and didn't want anyone to miss it.
As mentioned on another thread, the attributes controller was 50% of my beef with Zen Cart. The other 50% (moving products) can be got round using Easypopulate. Whereas there was no workaround for attributes. Therefore, knowing that I'm not the only one to have attributes, I wanted to spread the love. Or the contrib, anyway!
