Thank you, Dr.Byte. I say weirdly because I had already disabled any sideboxes that contain reference to those pages. I shall try renaming those files, that makes sense.

Weirdly, the googlebots have indexed a page (2) which at this stage has no content. What is the best way to suppress these pages (2,3,4 etc) without actually deleting the files? I may want to use...

Ok, I've fixed it...if anyone is having a similar problem, you just need to remove then reinstall the subscription manager (can't believe I didn't think of that before).

I've been having a similar problem. I thought I'd successfully changed all collations to what was being used for all other tables (latin1_general_ci), but when I go to try again it has the same error...

This is the error message I get when trying to email newsletter subscribers:
