Have a look under "configuration" at the option called "stock". The "allow checkout" choice is in that section,

I think I've resolved it with the "allow checkout" option - I had it set to true. D'oh. IS there anything else that may have contributed?

I hope someone can shed some light for me. I have just had a customer manage to order 10 units of two of my stock items, when I only had 6 in stock. The quantity of these two items now shows at -4....
