    red flag Ineed diferent image sizes for each category

    Hello

    I have a problem

    I need different image sizes for each category.

    The thing is

    I am selling pins or button badges and I want the picture to bee 90 px x 90 px in the category of Pins , because it is near the actual sizes of the pin.

    But we will sell T-shirts and I need a picture bigger than that for that product, maybe 200 px

    In the other categories also I would like to have custom picture sizes too,

    and In the main page I need the pictures to be 150 px

    what can I do

    Because when I put 90 px x 90 px for the sub categories it changes the pictures of all sub categories and the pictures of the main page categories

    thanks for your help

    If you set the widths to the largest value and heights to 0, smaller images will show at their actual sizes. This assumes you have loaded image files that are exactly the pixel size you want them to display at, which is what you should be doing.

    Configuration > Images >
    Subcategory Image Width 200
    Subcategory Image Height 0
    Image - Product Listing Width 200
    Image - Product Listing Height 0

    The subcategories will hold a space for the largest images; narrower ones will generally be aligned in that space according to the applicable stylesheet rule.

    Hello
    Thank you for your response

    It seams a very good idea.

    but my probles is that if i do that then in the page of the product when people will click to view a large version of the image, that image will have the same size of the

    main image of the product, right now i have set the images of the pins or button badges for the main picture 90 px x 90 px based on a n image of 392 x 392 px that is the image you can see when clicking to enlarge..

    any other ideas are welcome

    thanks

    You should be making your images the exact pixel size you want them to display at, for each of small/medium/large versions.

    You can save the large image at 392 x 392 px as pin123_LRG.jpg, then the medium image at 150 x 150 px as pin123_MED.jpg, and the small image at 90 x 90 px as pin123.jpg.

    Then all of them will load as fast as possible and have the best image quality possible. See the image tutorials for discussion of why this is the best way to do it.

    I have problem with this:

    HTML Code:
    by: Ajeh - Linda McGrath
    A product owns 1 filename ...
    Note: the base image name is the original image name loaded for the product.

    The concept of multiple images is best explained using an example:

    From the Admin, you edit a product and specify an image file called:
    a_bugs_life.gif
    and put it in the
    /images/dvd directory via the drop down.

    Now you use your FTP program to upload additional images to /images/dvd

        * a_bugs_life_01.gif
        * a_bugs_life_02.gif
        * a_bugs_life_03.gif
        * a_bugs_life_04.gif

    In my site, right now I have 3 products, and theri pictures are mixed with other pictures in /www/images/ and no one of them have their on folder as mentioned there

    the name of mi product are 0002-flecha cursor celeste.jpg and 0001-flecha cursor celeste.jpg

    each one is a different product, and as i understood, from the that text, zencart should create a new folder called 0002-flecha cursor celeste.jpg with the image inside, right?

    I dinīt se folders for my categories and sub categories ether.

    I attach a picture of my folder

    I was goinīg to make my self a a folder images/button_badges_pins

    then images/button_badges_pins/0002-flecha cursor celeste via ftp

    but this dosent make sense at all, it seams crazy

    because 0002-flecha cursor celeste.jpg i a product, a button badge or pin,

    and I have 348 pins and counting,

    so this means than in the edit product the drop down menu will grow to much,

    if I end up with 2000 products and each folder appear in this drop down menu,

    it seams like hell of long, is crazy, or I am wrong, is this the way it works to get more then one picture in the product description page?
