Default Canada Post Shipping Module Port 30000

    Hey folks.
I recently installed the CP Shipping module and like many ran into the issue of port 30000 not being opened.
I sent a message to the webhost asking them to open TCP 30000 and they replied saying they had done so.

However, even with this being done I am still getting the "110 Connection timed out" error.

Is the unopened port the only issue that causes this problem or are there other causes? I followed the instructions to the tee - merged the files etc. I have tested a few online port scanners and all are saying connection refused when testing the port? Any suggestions on a reputable and accurate port scanner?

Port 30000 for outbound traffic is the key.

Hey Dr. Thanks for the reply.

    I saw here : http://forum.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?t=72390
You had suggested to the fellow to take out the "@" symbol from the canadapost.php file

I did this same thing myself, but saw not errors on my test shipment checkout.
Could this be a possible indication of an issue with the way the files were installed?

If you're getting the "Connection Timed Out" error, then it would appear that you've at least got the main module installed, but that it is unable to communicate.
It's not uncommon for the hosting company to "think" they opened the port properly, but didn't.

DrByte I just wanted to thank you for your help - your affirmation that it was most likely a problem with the webhost gave me the guts, after 5 emails to different tech support reps to finally get on the phone and give them a peice of my mind.

I have port 30000 opened bidirectionally within 2 minutes
Everything is working famously. What a great system

Thanks again - much appreciated - I owe you one.
