Renamed my admin folder and cant login now

Hello, I did exactly as the docs said in the part where i should rename my admin folder for security but i did it after it has been installed now i can only access the login page when i click submit it goes to slash admin again...and since the folder does not exist anymore i get an error .

I'm guessing you didn't change the /admin parts in admin/includes/configure.php

i did , i did exactly as written in the docs file one thing i noticed though the said admin/includes/configure.php file is named as dist-configure.php

I dont know if that could be causing the problem, but i didnt name it as such.

No, there should be a admin/includes/configure.php file. I've renamed my admin folder and it does work. You have to change the name in admin/includes/configure.php.

but honestly there is no configure.php file in there just dist-configure.php
let me try rename that to just configure.php and i will update you if it works

On my local folder there was no configure.php but when i checked on the web server there was ...

so what i did originally was make changes to that dist-configure.php file will that give me problems later on?

No, a completed Zencart installation doesn't use the dist-configure.php files.
