Customer-specific products

Hi all,

I'm new to Zen Cart and am trying to figure out how to configure customer-specific products that only show when the customer is logged in. We do lots of products that are customized, and want to offer them on the site once designed for ease-of-ordering. Because they are custom for each customer, we don't want other customers to see these customized offerings and pricing.

Any ideas?

There is no mechanism in ZC to do this. It will involve quite a bit of customization, both with the database and the core code.

However, ZC can "remember" past orders - specific to a given customer - so I imagine this is within the bounds of possibility. It depends on what data needs to be captured in order to "classify" the product as being unique to a customer (where is that data going to be stored?)

Thank you both or the replies. It's too bad that there can't be a link between the "Group Pricing" groups and the "Categories/Products" selections, just as another option that says, "Available To Group(s):". The Zen Cart framework seems like it's very nearly poised to handle this.
