    help question Development Road Map and dimensions for attributes

    Hi i have asked this before and am hesitant to pay to have someone develop a solution that wont be compatible with the core going forward

    I just viewed the updated development roadmap for 1.4

    I look forward to the stock by attribute and the sku by attribute

    this will assist greatly

    the major hurdle i have right now is with Canada Post shipping (not sure if there are other couriers that work like this) it is based on shipping by weight & dimensions

    where i run into a problem is with products where the attributes change the size of the product and related shipping box

    see an example at:

    http://www.secretgardenflowers.com/i...oducts_id=1698

    * A - 6.75x7 inches (17x18 cm)
    * B - 4.75x11.75 inches (12x30 cm)
    * C - 7x13.75 inches (18x35 cm)
    * D - 4.75x21.5 inches (12x55 cm)
    * E - 6x31.5 inches (15x80 cm)

    the size is chosen by attribute and dimensions vary

    currently i have no way of setting dimensions (length width height) by attribute

    Ideally if the actual weight & dimensions could be passed to the canada post module so shipping calculations can be accurate

    Its just a thought but is this something you can look at for the 1.4 release

    red flag Re: Development Road Map and dimensions for attributes

    additonally i was wondering if strict weight could be specified by attribute

    ie the base product has no values (pricing by attribute)

    and you specify a weight , length, width and height for each attribute

    ie small medium , large

    Any idea on whether this is being looked at?

    No - per-attribute dimensional/weight support is not part of v1.4.
    Your suggestions are noted for future consideration though.

    Nevertheless, you can certainly customize the code to suit your needs.
