Im planning on doing the same thing but is it possible to have multiple banners (rotating just like the built-in zen cart banners)? And how do I make more of the same banners?

Lastly, can I have banners for the category description (view image for example).

bannerbox2 is the one that you want to add additional content to and have it rotated.

This is in admin > tools > banner manager

I enabled bannerbox2 and it's working but it is only showing 1 image that is rotating. If possible, I would like to have maybe 5 images on this sidebox and each one rotates...can this be done with this banner group or do I have to create extra banners?

Check in bannner manager and see how many banners you have assigned and active for bannerbox2 - - it will need more than one to be able to rotate

Sorry if im not being clear...what I want is to have maybe 5 images aligned vertically in this sidebox and each one rotates with their own pool of images

The default display is only one rotating image....One would have to custom code this sidebox forst to have5 images and then additional custom code to segregate these and rotate them individually with their own set of images
