.htaccess changed to redirect to https now cant login to admin

I placed the following in my htaccess:
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}

And now my admin log in will not work.

Any ideas?

If putting that in your .htaccess broke it, then I'd suggest undoing whatever you did.


And then the next question is ... "why" did you do that in the first place?
