Coupon for customers who previously purchased a specific item

Is there any way to create a coupon that will only work if the customer has purchased a particular item?

We are a theater company that is about to offer subscription packages. On top of the subscription package, we are discussing having subscribers be able to buy discounted tickets for people accompanying them. If we just make a secret coupon code, there's nothing to stop them from giving that coupon out to all their friends, whether they are accompanying the subscriber or not. What we'd like to do is make a coupon code that will only work for customers who have previously purchased the subscription package item. It doesn't seem possible with Zen Cart as it is; is there any module that can accomplish this?

(I'm using Zen Cart 1.3.7)

Though this is very old, it never had any reply. I would be interested in that functionality also. When people purchase any download, a PDF document will be accompanied with the product, saying thanks and as a way of appreciation, we will offer a 25% discount coupon for the next download purchase.

Any help will be appreciated.
