Installing on XAMPP localhost--help please !

Hello everyone, i'm quite new to this, i'm having problem on page 37 of the manual when trying to set everything up on my local machine. I wasn't able to save the file When I edit the hosts file and add what is required. An error message popped up says can't creat file, please make sure the path or file name is correct. i'm using window vista. Any assitant would be much appreciated.

Due to the heightened security in Windows Vista, you will need to use an editor with administrator privilege to do that.

You can do so using Windows Notepad as follows:

1. On your Windows Start menu, click on All Programs > Accessories.
2. Right-click on "Notepad" and select "Run as administrator".
3. Click "continue" when the user account control dialog box appears.
4. Your Notepad application will start.
5. Open up the hosts file in Notepad and make your changes before saving the file.
