UPS Oversized Suggestions?

Hello,

There is a lot of information here on UPS but I can't seem to find the exact info I require.

I need to figure out how to get the UPS shipping module to calculate oversized packages.

I have Cellos that weigh only 20 lbs however their package size is: 55"x15"x21"

UPS charges a billable weight of 70 lbs for our Cellos.

I need help figuring out how to make this happen with UPS - OR - how to get flat rates for this to show by itself. I can only get both to show at the same time at this moment.

Should I be doing this in the table?

Thanks. But this is just one product that I just so happen to know. I've got about 10,000 products that I'm importing. It's a lot of work to go through and "recall" each one that's oversized. I was rather hoping for someplace to put the dimensions to handle this dynamically like we did with our other cart.

I got close with the UPS XML but was never able to finish it. If you have the data in a database with dimensions for each product then you have what is needed and dont have to recall anything. If you want help with this PM me.

I discovered another issue that I can't get around. How do I include required insurance and adult signature confirmation? I'm not about to send a 5,000 USD cello uninsured, that's for sure.

This is where a massive suggestion for future Zen releases pops into my head.
At this point, I'd like to be able to assign a flat rate directly to a specific product.
The flat rate module shows up for everything if I enable it. It seems to be of no use for my purposes.

I want to assign a $50.00 flat rate (this includes the insurance) to just one cello right now. Then we can do some sort of import directly into MySQL for the rest later on... Each product is different depending upon size and cost.

Try the UPS XML module at

It supports insurance on checkout but not in the pop up estimate.
The code for box size is not working yet in this add on.

Any further progress on the oversized UPS shipping features. OS1, OS2... Many of our items are light in weight but ship in large boxs and we currently have no solutions for handing these products.

Can you increase the weight so the item gets processed as an oversize box?
But to answer your quesiton, I did what I could with the UPS XML.
