Paypal IPN not transfering buyers address over to paypal payment/system

Help I am going crazy here. I have spent 3 hours on the phone with paypal spent a few hours emailing back and forth with my server tech team. And still can't figure this out they seem to be blaming everyone else. And I've read and searched

Ok I've had zencart for 1 week now and love the set up and everything but my problem is when my customers go to checkout and they are linked over to paypal's system paypal's system is not getting the buyers address and attaching to the payment that is made.I've double checked my paypal ipn information and everything is set correctly. I've had my server provided open port 80 as stated in the admin area.

Is there something in the zencart area that needs to be set to have the buyers address and information to be transfered over to paypal's server???

I am having the EXACT same problem and have been trying to solve this myself for the least 24 hours (with no damn luck).

This is a very important issue as we need to have the buyers address information sent so that PayPal can verify the orders!

And to make things even more confusing...I have set up two different stores and the first store there is NO problems with this happening, only in my 2nd store is this problem happening.

(Both stores have the same web hosting company).

Thank you for any info someone can give on this.

I can't be of any help - I am having the exact same problem. My customers' addresses USED to show in PayPal, but it hasn't worked for a long time. I didn't change anything on the admin side, so it has to be a conflict with PayPal IPN and Zen. Somewhere.

The damn thing is...I have PayPal Standard/IPN set up with ZenCart on three sites.

All three sites have ZenCart 1.3.8a installed.

Two work fine (sends the address info properly to PayPal so that the addresses can be confirmed and we have seller protection)
...one does not.

In the ZenCart admin screen I click on "version" for all 3 sites and the only difference I really see is in the PHP Version numbers (I guess these are different depending on the webhost server they are located on, etc.

First site = Works fine
PHP Version 4.4.8

Second site = Works fine
PHP Version 4.4.7

Third site = DOES NOT WORK
PHP Version 4.4.9

I am totally clueless to what PHP is...but could the more updated PHP Version (4.4.9 in this case) be causing the problems????
I mean people who have used this PayPal method for some time (Gizmo_Girl above sounds like it USED to work for her) but now doesn't work.

Could the people in this thread post their respective PHP Version numbers that it states in their admin page? Maybe we might find a pattern here. :shrug:

Boy, do I understand your frustration!!

I am using Version 1.3.7 of Zen cart & my PHP is version 4.4.4. There's really no rhyme or reason to why this isn't working. I am trying a fix located in another thread, but I won't know if it's working until I get another order, since I can't send myself PayPal payments. Here's the link, maybe it will help you:

Also -
If you can't set up a sandbox for testing paypal you can still make 'real' orders.

You need 2 paypal accounts:
Shop
Personal

With your personal account, purchase something from your shop.
As soon as the payment has cleared simply issue a refund back to your personal account.

No mods set up on any of the the 3 carts I have set up. Yet 2 work...1 does not.

Also to test it out you don't even need a paypal account. Just pay with a regular credit card (as a customer you can choose whether to use your PayPal account or a regular credit card without signing on).

Even as a customer you can tell if Zencart is working properly or not as it will have your address info on the credit card form already filled out on the PayPal site.
If it doesn't have it filled out...then ZenCart didn't send the address over to PayPal and the order WILL NOT be offered seller protection (which is the IMPORTANT thing in all of this. It is not a huge deal if the customer has to re-enter his address info...but it IS a big deal if I cannot get seller protection from PayPal for the purchase)
