Default Authorize.net module not working properly for me

    Hi,

I've configured the Authorize.net gateway module in Test Mode in Zen Cart. However, on my front-side check out pages, there are no input boxes for credit number, expiration date, etc. Under "Payment Method" it only shows two options, one to pay by credit card, and one to pay by money order. Then when you click "continue", there are still no input boxes, it just says "payment method -- credit card."

another note: At the top of my zen cart pages it shows the thick red bar that says: "Authorize.net is in Testing Mode," so there is some recognition by Zen Cart that Authorize.net has been activated.

I can't get any help from auth.net for this issue. Does anyone here have any suggestions? Thanks very much

I also just tried taking the Auth.net payment module OUT of test mode, and changed it to "Production" mode. And still, the input boxes don't appear.

Since Auth.net comes as the default Credit Card gateway with Zen Cart, and yet it is not working, this seems to imply that some Zen Cart code got messed up somewhere?

Auth.net refuses to help with this, claiming they know nothing about Zen Cart. Is there anywhere else I can go for help with this?

    Thanks

It's not the "default" gateway, although it's one of the many included gateways.

It sounds like you're using the "SIM" module, and have it configured for off-site payments.

If you want to collect the Credit Card numbers directly on your site, it's better to use the AIM module instead. You'll also need an SSL certificate to protect the CC and customer data you're collecting.

Oh, my gosh! That was the problem. Thank you so much for your help. Now, I have another problem, which is, once I place a test order, I get an error message saying that my auth.net ID and password are invalid, or account has expired....even though Auth.net just issued those things to me yesterday, and I copied and pasted them into Auth.net module exactly.... whatever, that is another problem that we'll tackle next.

    thanks again

Note that the transaction-key is very different from the account login name.
