    Default XAMPP stuck at: You are seeing this page for one or more reasons:

    Hi,

    I already had my zen cart installed . I have other zencart sites as well. So I need to configure so I can test them locally. Up until I have been doing it remote (live) .

    My XAMPP works with staic sites on my local machine no problem. Problem I am having is ones with the database.

    I have exported the database then re created and imported into the database locally. I can access the phpMyadmin can can see all the tables etc.

    My phpmyadmin is located D:/localhost/phpmyadmin because I have other databases for my other sites. And within that phpmyadmin I can see import and export databases including the one belongs to my zencart. (none of the database sites work locally)

    So when I run my local zencart shop at http://localhost/buy4kids.com.au/index.php I get the following message.

    What should I be changing the config file values to >

    My XAAMP is working fine with my static sites , Its only those have the database it does not work. I am totally confused when it comes to database user name/passwords.

    This is what I have: Currently on the web (internet live and working)
    To explain my problem I will make up some user names and passwords down here.

    Remote sites config:
    phpMyAdmin
    Username: phpMyAdminUsername
    Password: phpMyAdminpassword

    Zencart Mysql
    Database: zencartDataBase
    Username: zencartMSQLUsername
    Password: zencartMySQLpassword

    LOCAl settings:
    So based on this what how should I be configuring my XAAMP to work ?
    My Local phpMyAdmin has the following:
    Username:root
    PasswordhpMyAdmin

    Hello. Thank you for loading Zen Cart™.
    You are seeing this page for one or more reasons:

    1. This is your first time using Zen Cart™ and you haven't yet completed the normal Installation procedure.
    If this is the case for you, you will need to upload the "zc_install" folder using your FTP program, and then run zc_install/index.php via your browser (or reload this page to see a link to it).

    2. Your /includes/configure.php and/or /admin/includes/configure.php file contains invalid path information and/or invalid database-connection information.
    If you recently edited your configure.php files for any reason, or maybe moved your site to a different folder or different server, then you'll need to review and update all your settings to the correct values for your server.
    See the Online FAQ and Tutorials area on the Zen Cart™ website for assistance.

    To begin installation ...

    1. The Installation Documentation can be read by clicking here: Documentation
    2. You will need to upload the "zc_install" folder using your FTP program, and then run zc_install/index.php via your browser (or reload this page to see a link to it).
    3. The Online FAQ and Tutorials area on the Zen Cart™ website will also be of value if you run into difficulties.

    Thanks but I have renamed the folder to _zc_install so it should not see it

    Then you need to edit the two configure.php files with settings appropriate to your local install of xampp.

    e.g.
    http://localhost/buy4kids.com.au
    DIR_FS = 'd:/path_to_xampp/htdocs/buy4kids.com.au

    Yes I tried that but on the remote server my folders shows as

    define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/buy4kids/public_html/');

    and where as my files were in
    define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', 'D:/wwwroot/xampp/htdocs/buy4kids.com.au/');

    Finally figured out that home=htdocs,

    So made comments so I remember later :-)
    //define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/buy4kids/public_html/');
    define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', 'D:/wwwroot/xampp/htdocs/buy4kids.com.au/');

    The only strange thing about XAMPP is my shopping cart will not only show the default files rather then overide folder files locally..have no idea why?

    Template folder works fine.

    XAMPP is an Apache server, even if you install it on a PC running on Windows software, so I find the 'wwwroot' pathway unusual.

    Normally XAMPP would be at either: d:/apachefriends/xampp/htdocs or at d:/xampp/htdocs

    'wwwroot' is usually associated with Windows IIS server pathways.
