Default Display index.php when URL is just www.mydomain.com

I have uploaded my site and noticed the index.php only displays when URL www.pushchairsnprams.com/shop is entered. I also need the index page to show when you just type in www.pushchairsnprams.com

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Many thanks

You can do this via redirect as per
    http://www.webweaver.nu/html-tips/web-redirection.shtml

What you've done is install ZC into a SUB-DIRECTORY of your website called "shop":-

    www.pushchairsnprams.com/shop

A simple re-direct is a quick solution, but there are other implications in having your site located in a sub-directory, including the possibility of lower search engine rankings.

It is quite safe to have your shop in a sub-directory. Everything will work perfectly if your configure.php files are correctly set up (which it appears they are, as the site works).

However, if you do not intend to use your webroot for other website(s), you may want to consider moving the store up a level so that instead of having ZC reside in:-

    www.pushchairsnprams.com/shop

    it now resides in

    www.pushchairsnprams.com

Moving zencart from directory to root is fine, IF you also alter
BOTH config files to reflect this change.

    Good observation, Misty !

(Us dyed-in-the-wool zenners often make assumptions that newbies would automatically know that the 2 configure.php would also need quick edits!)

When replying to forum posts I always try and pretend
that even after 4 years using zencart, have never before seen query am answering,
but have probably answered exact same question many times.

Many thanks Misty & Fairestcape I've moved it to the root folder which makes more sense. I was was going by the zen cart example yourdomain.com/catalog & yourdomain.com/catalog/admin.
