Slow initial page .. fast subpages

Hi,

The site is www.real-terrain.com

The entry page is taking 17+ seconds to load .. but all the product pages there after are realatively quick.

It was fast until I started adding content. There are only 18 products!

What is causing this? How can I fix it?

Ver 1.3.8 clean install

It was quick for me:

OK .. weird! I tested on 2 different PCs and 2 different browsers on several different days and was getting 17s consistently.

After your replies, I have tried on a third machine and am getting the results that you have indicated. Must be dumb luck that I had 2 PCs with issues!

Reduce the images size (optimize them, either manually or install ImageHandler 2 to do that)

Or ... someone rebooted/restarted the server to get the load average down since the other two computers were tested ...

Next time you test and are fast on Computer 3, go test on Computer 1 and 2 ... see if they are fast at the same time ...
