USPS and UPS shipping module update

Actually what it says is:
NOTE: for older versions (prior to 1.3.x), try changing the line:

class usps extends base {

to read:

class usps {

That should work on any version that cannot use the extends base on the module ...

thanks for getting this module updated and running so quickly!!

i do see that our international customers are still having an issue with the onces being more than 5 digits when they order more than 1 item

"-2147218052 - The ounces field must be less than 5 digits"

i have the latest greatest module installed and i uninstalled and reinstalled it once i uploaded the new file (jan 9th file).

any ideas why this is not working? your help and replies are always very very appreciated!!

Odd ... could you give me the Product weight and the Tare settings that you are using so this can be tested?

Also what are your USPS settings?

Hi Linda.

I'm having problems getting the correct usps shipping charges for first class shipments.

If I go to usps.com to get a rate for a 6oz package shipping from 48042 to 30094 I get a quote for $1.73

If I try to get a quote from my store (www.byvalenti.com) the shipping estimator gives me a much higher amount $2.41.

I've spent an hour looking for an answer and haven't been able to find anything. I already updated the usps.php file. My settings are:

The only way I can get the wrong value is if I have:
All Packages are Machinable: false

Could you go to the Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... and in the bottom input box enter:
usps.php

What version comes up in the:
/includes/modules/shipping/usps.php

Can you save your settings and do a REMOVE, INSTALL and reconfigure it?

I uploaded the file again, removed and reconfigured, now I'm getting these quotes with machinable set to true or false, weird, they don't change and I know they should:
