Default domain vs. ip address in configure.php

I'm moving an existing site from one host (not using zencart) to a new host (will be using zencart). When I installed zencart on the new host, I specified the site domain name even though all I have to work with now is the ip address. Can I just edit includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php to use the ip address in the urls and then edit it back when DNS is updated and we go live on the new host?

Yes, you can do that. Make sure the paths to the cache and your database are correct too.
