Hello, I am receiving this error while trying to finish the checkout process.
(28) Operation timed out with 0 out of -1 bytes received

This site has been live for a while now, and we had an order last night that went through fine.
I was testing this because I wanted to change a small feature, and received this error. I reverted the feature (which wouldn't have effected this anyways) and still get it.


I checked the paypal/logs folder, here is the part that failed

I do not know if this error has anything to do with the timeout problem.
We are hosting on our own box so do not use a hosting company.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
Is it something on my end or is paypal having a problem?

i think it must have been something on Paypals end. I have been debugging for a while, and changed nothing, and all of a sudden it started working again... So it was down for about 3 hours.. Why wouldn't there have been a more of an uproar that it wasn't working? Somehow it only effected me?

There are some "similar threads" listed at the bottom of this page. Perhaps some of the 'causes' discussed there may offer some insight?

Perhaps I am blind.. but I am not seeing them. I did a search on Operation timed out, but those results were all host issues/incorrect/old curl installations.
