If you review the setting in the Configuration ... Product Listing ... you can customize that layout further on the Add to Cart ...

You might look at the settings in the Product Listings ...
Display Product Add to Cart Button (0=off; 1=on; 2=on with Qty Box per Product)
Do you want to display the Add to Cart Button?

NOTE: Turn OFF Display Multiple Products Qty Box Status to use Option 2 on with Qty Box per Product

red flag Re: Add to cart button on category page

This problem is similar to one of the (MANY) challenges I have encountered so far in my learning process of ZC. I've read a half a million posts it seems, and don't even know if I should post here or elsewhere, but I've got to start somewhere....right?

Anyway, I tried the directions above to see if it would help me make my add to cart buttons show up on any of the products, and it does not seem to work. My store site is on http://www.inthebeginninginc.org/bookstore/index.php

I've been attempting the daunting task of adding an online store to an already existent website and design. My customer is in a hurry and doesn't have time for me to waste on extra learning curve. After tons of reading, I'm not even sure if I have my files set up right for the custom template anymore. I spent six hours yesterday trying to find the directions on how to eliminate the right hand column. I have the e-book (not as helpful as some would think), and I'm still not sure if I have to create a paypal button for each product on the paypal website to get it to link to paypal shopping. I set up the paypal module exactly as said, but it still says Processing for status? Everything seems set up in Paypal as well. So what am I missing here? Sorry to rant. I'm just tired of dealing with sludging through a multitude of php code to find the right line that might turn it on, or wandering throught the admin sections hoping I'll stumble on the solution, or reading til my eyes pop out, hoping I can find someone who had the same problem. HELP!!!!!!!!

samarac - I'm also seeing an Add to My Cart button on every product.

BTW, your category listing is almost unreadable on my monitors.

Would you believe, I finally stumbled across a way to make them appear? I tried out some solutions other people had for slightly similar problems, and stumbled across the answer in the process. I had to go to product types and change the N to Y under Add to Cart, and select edit layout for each type and change the 0 to 1 on some of the categories like show quantity in shopping cart.

What do you mean though that the categories were unreadable from your monitor/browser? Do you have an old browser? Is your color/contrast low that it's appearing too dark? Try refreshing the look now. I may have tweaked it since you last saw it.

Thanks for the update that you had the Product Type setup to not allow the Add to Cart and that you were able to fix it by setting the Product Type to Allow the Add to Cart feature ...
