Narrow Search by attribute (ie price, manufacturer, category etc)

I'm looking for an add on or functionality that will allow us to narrow search results by certain criteria that you see on several site like ebay or amazon. I didn't see anything in the existing downloads section but I may have missed or looked in the wrong place. Is there anything like this out there currently?

There are currently no real solutions for changing the way search looks/operates available ready made. There is an advanced search sidebox in the downloads section but that may not work for you, depends on what version of Zen cart you're using.

I am currently in the process of getting someone to code a search sidebox where it will allow you to search by price range, category etc

This is the most recent thread with regards to this problem which has been lingering on till from as far as back 2006.
Does any one has a solution now for this.

I am not a coder, but if any developer is ready to work on this then i am ready to pay for it. or can even plan for a standard add catering to this problem.

Can anyone tell if its really possible in zen cart, cos no one has been able to give this as solution so far.
