Default cannot send email - local install ubuntu box with exim as mta

    Hello

I've done a local install of zen cart on my laptop and I'm a bit stumped on the e-mail testing.

I run Xampp 1.4.16 on a chrooted debian etch environment on top of Ubuntu 8.04. Exim is installed as MTA and I have tested by using the mail command to send and receive mail between local users.

    I've checked that
'sending mail' is set to true
'send emails from known domain' is set to false

I've tried all e-mail send options - sendmail, sendmail-f and qmail - no errors. But when I check the users mailboxes, there is nothing.

I can't see any log errors.

    What am I doing wrong?

Default Re: cannot send email - local install ubuntu box with exim as mta

OK solved - I was being silly and had configured Exim with the wrong options. It was not allowing the delivery of local e-mail. /var/log/exim4 logs are your friends!
A dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config withe the correct options solved the problem
