counter history?!

Hello

What really are the numbers in admin home page counter history?

I use google analytics, webalizer and awstats they are fairly equal in their numbers but in the admin home there seems to be approx 9times more visitors.
The days and visits of me updating the pages are noticed.

I made tha change
if ($spider_flag == false) {
// counter and counter history
require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'counter.php');
}

as suggested to /includes/application_top.php

now this mornig I noticed this whole day is missing. What migth happened?
