Free Shipping to USA and Canada

I apologize for this post, but after two days of reading the forums, I need to know if this is even possible.

I have free shipping module turned ON and many items (BUT NOT ALL) in our shop marked as free shipping ( but we only want to ship them for free in usa and canada.)

Anything smaller than a DVD we mark as free shipping Everything else goes through the Canada Post Shipping Module.

I do not want the items marked free shipping to ship for free internationaly. ie Europe
SO...

I made a zone for USA and Canada and used the free shipping options, to enable free shipping for those zones only

BUT when an international customer clicks one of the FREE SHIPPING products - it does not give or allow the item to be shipped to them, if they add a NON-FREE Shipping item to the cart - the Canada Post module kicks in.

IS IT POSSIBLE to: have the items marked as free shipping to only be free shipping it usa and canada and EUROPEAN orders just see the Canada Post module

Yep, I just went round and round on this one last week.

Basically, you have to set up shipping zones- US and Canada free. The rest of the world is charged.

So...delete the free shipping module. Set up the shipping zones module.

Zone 1 US, CA. Zone 1 Shipping Cost 0.00


Zone 2 is international. Run a query in tools > install sql patch (this defines all countries except US and Canada:

Zone 2 Shipping Cost 15.00


NOW, make sure that your products setup says "Normal shipping rules" instead of "Free shipping"

I appreciate the reply, but if I am not mistaken won't that make all of our products FREE shipping in Canada and US.

I don't think that is going to work for me, we have over 3000 products and only about 600 are listed are free shipping and it is important that the rest get accurate shipping quotes - I would have to manually go through the database and change all the shipping.

we can't do $15 flat rate to europe, because many of our products are over dimensions or wieght, which is why we need the Canada Post module.
