Mods automatically install, with new zencart installation

I install Zencart a lot , and there are many mods I have to go through and install with each new installation. I was wondering if there is a way to automatically install these mods, for example maybe adding them to the zc_install folder somehow? What are your thoughts? Thank you!!

Install a new copy, install the mods until you are happy.
Download the database and then use all these files on any new installs.

That's what I do simply changing all the override folders names with each install.

To build out what bigbadboy just said: create your perfect installation (with all mods installed) and then install that instead of what's on SourceForge. One extra step: many mods change the database; you would need to create a folder of all required .sql files and run this after completing your install.

And to do that, just use the plugins folder inside zc_install/sql/plugins ... and they'll automatically be loaded when you run zc_install. No need to do a database export.

/zc_install/sql/plugins/ ... it will autoload all mysql*.sql files in that folder, in alphabetical order.

Interesting - didn't know this existed. Perhaps mod authors should name their database modification scripts mysql*.sql for easy integration into this system?

I have a complete shop installed on a local server, with all the mods and configurations I need for UK use (but devoid of product and customer data).

When I need a new shop for a client, I just go through the same routine as one would use to "move shop to a new server".

... and if you've too much time on your hands you can also have in your arsenal different versions of install.
For example a ready to go version with minor CSS changes, with lots of CSS changes, with 100% width, with categories in the header etc, basically different styles.
