Default Items will not disappear from Shopping Cart after checkout

    Hi,

I am moving hosting service providers using the instructions in the forum here and everything is working including redit card charges except when I buy something I can checkout just fine but the item does not drop from teh shopping cart when the next time I go in to my account. I have reloaded cache and signed out but no success.

    Using 1.3.8, no SSL yet.

    Thanks for any help

    Bob

If it's not emptying your cart, then usually it's because your payment module isn't completing properly, and is blocking the checkout process from completing.

It likely also means you're not getting the confirmation emails either.

Perhaps your upload to the new server is missing some files or parts of files. Maybe your FTP upload failed with errors? Downloading a full set of files from both servers and comparing everything with a tool like WinMerge is likely a good starting point.

    Good Dr.

I did the compare and all match up. The other curious thing is I believe the checkout process is completing because I am seeing the charge hit my credit card but the item just hangs in the shopping cart.

    Thanks for any other tips

    What version of Zen Cart?
    What payment module?
What addons do you have installed?
What emails are sent when you make payment?

    Version 1.3.8

    We use Authorize.net

    No Add ons

All the correct emails are sent just like everything was working perfectly.

    Thanks so much

I wouldn't expect that to happen using one of the built-in payment modules unless the return code from the gateway was invalid or otherwise unacceptable.
Are you using the authnet SIM module or the AIM module? AIM has always been more secure and reliable because your server never loses control of the transaction like the SIM module does ... just due to the way the payment flow is designed by the gateway.

    You have a few options:
    - try using the AIM module
    - turn on debug logging in the module's settings and check what the logfiles say when the problem occurs
    - leave it alone

    Dr,

I am using AIM but I can't find where to turn on the logging you suggest in the module.

    Thanks for any leads.

Admin->Modules->Payment->Authorize.net AIM->Edit .... at the bottom of the list is the Debug Mode option. Set it to Log To File:
    Debug Mode
Would you like to enable debug mode? A complete detailed log of failed transactions may be emailed to the store owner.
    - Off
    - Log File
    - Log and Email
